"Releasing the Burden" - One-day silent meditation retreat with Jess Huon
Saturday 4th November 2017, 9:30am - 4:30pm, CERES We sometimes walk around with our hands tightly clenched, without knowing it. Hands balled in fists, we wonder - 'why am I not at ease?' Why do we clench and grip on? What supports us to let go - a movement akin to a flock of birds leaving the dark of trees? What was the natural cost-free ease the Buddha pointing towards when he asked us to sit down close to the roots of trees? On this day of practice we will explore, together, what it is to sit close to the ground and 'hand over the burden.' Venue: CERES Learning Centre, CERES Environmental Park, Lee Street, East Brunswick (walk to the end of Lee Street, turn right across courtyard garden) Cost: $25 + dana for Jess's teachings Registration & Enquiries: insightretreats@hotmail.com "Loving Presence" - 4 Day Meditation Retreat With Anton Eastick Wednesday 22nd November - Sunday 26th November 2017, Kallara, Strathbogie Ranges On this Insight Meditation retreat we will explore the primary heart teachings of The Buddha: kindness, compassion/empathy, joy and equanimity/spaciousness. These natural qualities of love are not only places to rest, but also qualities of heart we can train and develop. The retreat will include comprehensive meditation instructions, teacher interviews, periods of silence as well as group exploration of these timeless themes. This retreat is open to everyone from beginners onwards.
