The Silence (The Twilight Zone)

"The Silence" is episode 61 of the American television anthology series The Twilight Zone. The plot of this episode was based in part on Anton Chekhov's "The Bet". It originally aired on April 28, 1961 on CBS, and was the first of only two Twilight Zone episodes (the other being season five's "The Jeopardy Room") to feature a story without any supernatural or science fiction elements. It does, however, contain one of the series' signature twist endings.

Plot

Colonel Archie Taylor, a gruff aristocrat, has difficulty enjoying his men's club because of the constant chatter of fellow member Jamie Tennyson. Just as irritating is the content, which usually concludes with a transparent attempt to curry investors.

In an effort to shut Tennyson up, Taylor proposes a wager: he bets $500,000 that Tennyson cannot remain silent for one year. If Tennyson accepts the wager, he will be enclosed in the club's game room, in which a small glass-walled apartment has been erected. There, Tennyson will be monitored by microphones so that he cannot speak without detection. Any requests he makes will be made in writing, and any member may come to visit him at any time. Tennyson is offended but agrees. He requests that Taylor put a check on deposit in his name. This measure is refused by all in the club as the Colonel has a strong standing of honor and credit within the club. "My courage against your credit" is then accepted by both.

Silence, also known as The Power of Silence, is a 2013 Malayalam thriller film directed by V. K. Prakash and starring Mammootty, Anoop Menon, Pallavi Purohit, Joy Mathew and Jayaprakash Kuloor.

Plot

Arvind Chandrasekhar (Mammootty), a very successful lawyer with a track record any one would dream about, is appointed judge in the Karnataka High Court. Happily living in Bangalore with his wife Sangeetha (Pallavi Purohit) and their adorable children Arya and Aditya, the man has little to fret over. Before taking the oath, he visits his parents in Kerala. There he is harassed by threatening phone call from a veiled assailant who says he is not fit to be a judge. Arvind ignores the calls at first but things get serious when his wife and children face dangerous situations. The film narrates how he unveils the mystery with the help of his close friend Neil George (Anoop Menon), an IPS officer.

Feel (Kumi Koda song)

"Feel" (stylized as feel) is a smooth R&B song by Japanese singer and songwriter Kumi Koda. For the song, she worked closely with composer Hitoshi Shimono, who had composed the instrumental. The single is Kumi's sixth single in her 12 Singles Collection and charted at #1 on Oricon with 39,110 copies sold within the first week. As with some of the other singles released in the collection, feel was limited to 50,000 copies.

The song also became Koda Kumi's second song to have a chorus completely in English (first being 24, which was also written and composed by Hitoshi Shimono).

The music video for the single tied into the four others in the storyline: Candy feat. Mr. Blistah, you, Lies and Someday/Boys♥Girls.

The love interest in the music video was played by Shugo Oshinari. Shugo Oshinari is best known for his portrayals of Teru Mikami in the Death Note TV series and Takuma Aoi in Battle Royale II: Requiem.

Feel (Polish band)

Feel is a Polish band which was formed in Katowice (Upper Silesia) in 2005. Originally called 'Q2', the band later adopted 'Kupicha Band' as its name and then finally 'Feel'.

The group released its debut album 'Feel' on November 26, 2007. Up to now their biggest success is winning the Bursztynowy Słowik (main award) as well as the People's Choice award at the 2007 Sopot International Song Festival with pop stars like Emmanuel Moire, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Monrose, The Cloud Room, Thierry Amiel and September also in contention. The group enjoys great popularity in Poland, with both singles released so far achieving tremendous success, to the bewilderment of many independent music critics.

Fraser, Edmonton

Fraser is a residential neighbourhood in north east Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Like many of the neighbourhoods in the Clareview area, it is centred about an elementary school and community hall with the same name. "Named for John Fraser, an original homesteader in the area and one of the first trustees of the Belmont School."

The neighbourhood is bounded on the west by Victoria Trail, on the north by 153 Avenue NW, on the east by the North Saskatchewan River and 6 Street NW (this is approximate due to recent expansion eastward into previously fielded areas), and on the south by 144 Avenue NW.

According to the 2001 federal census, three out of every five (62.6%) residences were constructed during the 1980s. One in five (19.4%) predate the 1980s with most of these being built during the 1970s. The remaining one in five (18.0%) were built during the 1990s.

The most common type of residence, according to the 2005 municipal census, is the single-family dwelling. These account for three out of every five (59%) of all residences. The remaining two out of every five are evenly divided among rented apartments (15%), duplexes (13%) and row houses (13%). The apartments are all in low-rise buildings with fewer than five stories. Three out of every four (77%) of all residences are owner-occupied with only one in four (23%) being rented.
