Aviation Meteorological Products and Services

The Bureau of Meteorology's Aviation Weather Service provides aviation users with meteorological information necessary for safe and efficient civil aviation operations. The service includes the provision of observations, forecasts, warnings and advisories, and is provided within the technical and regulatory framework of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).

Accessing Meteorological Information for Flight Planning

Airservices Australia is the official provider of the Aeronautical Information Service which includes the delivery of the Bureau's aviation meteorological products. Therefore, all information for the purpose of flight planning should be obtained from Airservices Australia.

Meteorological Authority

The Meteorological Authority Office represents the Bureau of Meteorology as the designated Meteorological Authority and assists the Director of Meteorology to make an assessment of applications for authorisation of aviation meteorological reporting service.
