Captain Raju

Captain Raju is a Malayalam film actor. He has acted in more than 500 films in the languages of Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and English. He is best noted for his performance in character roles, and as a villain. Raju also appears in television serials and advertisements.

Personal life

He was born as second among seven children to K G Daniel and Annamma at Omallur, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala in 1950. He has four sisters named Elizabeth, Rani, Stella, Thankamma and two brothers, George and Mohan. His both parents were teachers at Govt. UP School Omalloor. He had his primary education from Govt. UP School Omalloor and NSS English Medium School, Omalloor. He was a volleyball player. He pursued a degree in Zoology from Catholicate College, Pathanamthitta. After graduation, Raju joined the Indian Army as an officer at the age of 21 and rose to the rank of a captain. He worked as marketing chief at Glucose and starch manufacturing company, Lakshmi Starch, at Mumbai after serving 5 years of Indian army and later he left the job to act in films. While working at the company he started acting in amateur drama troupes like Prathiba theatres in Mumbai. He later moved to films. He made his directorial debut with the Malayalam film Etha Oru Snehagatha in 1997. His second film as director was Mr. Pavanayi 99.99 (2012) in which he reprised the role of Mr. Pavanayi, his character from 1987 Malayalam film Nadodikkattu.

M. Mani

M. Mani a.k.a. Aroma Mani is an Indian film producer and director in Malayalam and Tamil movies. He has produced more than 60 movies and directed more than 10 movies under the banner Sunitha Productions. Some of the popular movies he produced are Jaagratha (1989), Kottayam Kunjachan (1990), Kuyilinethedi (1983), Engine Nee Marakkum (1983), Thinkalazhcha Nalla Divasam (1985), Oru CBI Diarykkurippu, Dhruvam, Commissioner, Doore Doore Oru Koodu Koottam (1986) and Irupathaam Noottaandu (1987). He made his debut with the movie Dheerasameere Yamunaatheere in 1977.

Biography

Sibi Malayil (born 2 May 1956) is an Indian film director known for his work in Malayalam cinema, most popular for his melodramas of the 1980s and 1990s.

Career

Since the mid-1980s he has directed around forty films. Before becoming an independent director, he assisted eminent directors such as Priyadarshan and Fazil. Films such as Cheekeran oru chillu (1986), Thaniyavarthanam (1987), Kireedam (1989), Dasharatham (1989), His Highness Abdullah (1990), Maalayogam (1990), Bharatham (1991), Sadayam (1992), Kamaladalam (1992), Akashadoothu (1993), and Chenkol (1993) defined the way Malayalam films were made, especially in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Many of his films have screenplays by A. K. Lohithadas. It was through his film Bharatham, Mohanlal-one of the greatest actor in Indian cinema-got his first national award for best actor. Sibi Malayil is also the president of the Film Employees' Federation of Kerala (FEFKA). He is also the chairman of a film institute named 'neo Film and Broadcasting School' at Kochi.
