Walter Clarence "Buck" Taylor, III (born May 13, 1938) is an American actor best known for his role as gunsmith-turned-deputy Newly O'Brien in 174 episodes during the last eight seasons of CBS's Gunsmoke television series (1967–1975). In recent years, he has painted the portrait of his friend and Gunsmoke series' star James Arness. Taylor's painting specialty is the American West, and each year, he creates the posters for several Texas rodeos. Taylor lives with his second wife on a ranch near Fort Worth, Texas.
Taylor was born in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor, Jr. He has an older sister, Faydean Taylor Tharp (born circa 1931) of the Greater Los Angeles Area. His father was the character actor Dub Taylor, sometimes known as "Cannonball" Taylor, and a native of Richmond, Virginia. Buck Taylor was born in the same year his father got his first acting role in the film You Can't Take It with You. Dub Taylor, one of cinema's most prolific supporting actors, appeared with dozens of leading actors, including John Wayne and the musicians Tex Ritter and Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Buck grew up on the various Hollywood sets, and was close to his father's Texas friend, the Western actor Chill Wills.

The Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show, known commonly as the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo is the oldest continuously running livestock show and rodeo. It has been held annually in Fort Worth, Texas since 1896. A non-profit organization, the Stock Show has provided millions of dollars in grants and scholarships in its tenure and continues to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars annually to assist the future leaders of agriculture and livestock management.
The city of Fort Worth was nicknamed "Cowtown" shortly after the Civil War, as cowboys stopped for supplies in the town while herding their cattle from South Texas to the Chisholm Trail. After the arrival of the Texas and Pacific Railway in 1876, various business people in the town began erecting stock yards in an effort to become a greater part of the cattle industry. In 1883, the Fort Worth Stockyards were officially incorporated.
Local ranchers wished to encourage interest in their cattle. A conversation between rancher Charles McFarland and Charles French, marketing manager for the Fort Worth Stock Yards, resulted in the first area stock show in 1896. This event was the first of what would eventually become known as the Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show. The stock show was held along Marine Creek, in a location with no buildings or enclosures, and only a few trees to provide shade for the animals and patrons. Early–day cattle exhibitors and organizers were all Texans: Capt. William S. Ikard of Henrietta, a breeder of Herefords; I. K. Kimberlin of Sherman; Col. J. W. Burgess of Fort Worth, a Shorthorn breeder, and Col. B. C. Rhome of Denton and Wise Counties. These men were joined by operators of the Fort Worth Stock Yards Company, which was organized in 1893; Armour & Company and Swift & Company, meat packers; and officials of the various railway companies serving Fort Worth.
Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. The city is located in North Central Texas and covers nearly 350 square miles (910 km2) in Tarrant, Denton, Parker, and Wise counties—serving as the seat for Tarrant County. According to the 2014 census estimates, Fort Worth has a population of 812,238. The city is the second-largest in the Dallas–Fort Worth–Arlington metropolitan area (the "DFW Metroplex").
The city was established in 1849 as an Army outpost on a bluff overlooking the Trinity River. Today Fort Worth still embraces its Western heritage and traditional architecture and design.USS Fort Worth (LCS-3) is the first ship of the United States Navy named after the city.
Fort Worth is home to the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and several world-class museums. The Kimbell Art Museum, considered to have one of the best collections in Texas, is housed in what is widely regarded as one of Texas' foremost works of modern architecture designed by Louis Kahn and Renzo Piano. Also of note are the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, designed by Tadao Ando, and the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, which houses one of the most extensive collections of American art in the world in a building designed by Philip Johnson. The city is also home to Texas Christian University, Texas Wesleyan University, University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas A&M University School of Law, and many multinational corporations including Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, American Airlines, Pier 1 Imports, Radio Shack, and others.

Plot: People Business is the story of CJ and Frank, two 36 year-old motivational media editors. Both guys have the shared experience of working at the same coma-inducing job for 12 years and have reached a point of total stagnation. After hours, they play together in a rock band, but have found little success and are exploring last-ditch gimmicks to breathe some life into their tired performances. CJ is married, but his drinking and action figure collecting are causing problems at home. Frank is single and struggling with loss and a home that is in a state of complete disrepair. He lives there with his pet rat, Lenny, who roams freely about the house. Both CJ and Frank are alcoholics and resort to desperate and/or pathetic means to milk a little excitement out of their increasingly pointless existences. Nothing seems to work and things go downhill from there. Frank attempts to rekindle a romance with a girl he has not spoken to in ten years, CJ thumbs through old Sears catalogs while drinking alone in his basement. After a series of massive failures, both realize that looking outwardly to find peace and satisfaction is a lost cause, and they begin to take control of their lives and move on to an uncertain, but exciting, future.

(Frank) Do you know that one of his first really big starring roles was at Gunsmoke? (Deb) Of course, I do. That’s why he was in Dodge City last fall at the Wild West Fest, one of the coolest events ever. He and Buck Taylor, who of course was Newly on Gunsmoke and one of our dear friends, had a press conference together. I have to say Burt could not be more gracious, he could not have said nicer things about Dodge City itself, about his role on Gunsmoke, about all the people he’d worked with. Milburn Stone, he couldn’t have been nicer in talking about Milburn Stone. Of course Buck Taylor, if th...
