Shahrokh (mythical bird)
Shahrokh, Shahrukh, Shahroze, or Shah Rukh (Persian: شاهرخ ) is the name of a mythological bird in Iranian literature. It is built of two parts: Shah meaning a king, and Rukh (or Rogh, or Rokh), another enormous mythological bird. In the One Thousand and One Nights stories, Rukh helps Sinbad escape from a dangerous island.
Shah Rukh, therefore, means king of the Rokh. It may also be written as Shaahinrokh or Avestan Saeenrokh. (E.g., Iranian city of Shaahindezh or Saeendezh and also city of Sannadazh). This has been converted to saeem-rokh, then seem-rokh, seem-rogh and vulgarised as see-morgh. Seemorgh is also known in mystics’ ideas as the king of birds or God. People have mistaken the word with See (thirty) and morgh (bird) and believed it means Thirty-Bird.
Soleiman Haim in his Persian-English Dictionary has translated Shahrokh as "The Great Rook" and according to "A Comprehensive Persian-English Dictionary" Shahrokh means "The horn of a rhinoceros; the rooks in chess; a title given to the sons of the nobility; name of a son of Timure."

Fearing that no one would believe that he had actually met the legendary white phoenix, this tourist immediately took out his mobile phone to record and post it on social media.

Simorgh is a mythical bird in Persian mythology and literature. “Si” means “thirty” (Si=30), and “Morgh” means “Bird” in Farsi, therefore Simurgh means "thirty birds". A 12 century Persian Sufi poet (Attar), composed a mystical poem that’s among the most significant of all works of Persian literature – “The Conference of the Birds”. THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS in Sufi mysticism: The poem is a symbolic rendering of the doctrine of Sufism with Simorgh as a metaphor for the divine. Soon after Rostams returns to Persia, "Afrasiab", the vicious king of "Tooran", forces the king of Samangan to join him in war against Persia. The old king of Samangan who can not withstand Afrasiab's evil forces surrenders...

Simorgh is a mythical bird in Persian mythology and literature. “Si” means “thirty” (Si=30), and “Morgh” means “Bird” in Farsi, therefore Simurgh means "thirty birds".
A 12 century Persian Sufi poet (Attar), composed a mystical poem that’s among the most significant of all works of Persian literature – “The Conference of the Birds”.
THE CONFERENCE OF THE BIRDS in Sufi mysticism:
The poem is a symbolic rendering of the doctrine of Sufism with Simorgh as a metaphor for the divine. In the story, the birds of the world’s meet to set out a search for their king, the legendary “Simorgh” (reference to above, the most revered Persian bird with the name that means 30 birds). The birds have to take a difficult journey to reach the divine. On the way, many die of heat, thirst, or illness, while some become prey to other animals.
Finally, only Thirty Birds make it and find the Simorgh but in the process, the birds learn that they themselves are the Simorgh (30 birds)! Therefore they understand the Sufi learning that they/we are the majesty and the miracle of life and life itself is a reflection of our own image in a mirror.
