Mystery Queenslander is $30 million richer and might not know it

A mystery Queenslander has woken up $30 million richer but might not even know it yet.

The unidentified millionaire took out the entire Oz Lotto division one prize on Tuesday night with an unregistered ticket.

That meant Golden Casket authorities had no way to phone them and pass on the good news.

It’s the second unregistered ticket to win a mega prize in Queensland this year, after another punter took home $40 million in Cairns in May.

“Because last night’s winner won the entire $30 million jackpot, we have a process where we give them time to come forward in private,” Golden Casket spokesman Matt Hart said.

Mr Hart initially delayed revealing the winner came from the Fraser Coast, and said the newsagent the ticket was purchased from likely revealed the next day if no one had come forward.

“In Queensland, you have actually seven years to come forward to claim your division one prize,” he said.

“We’d love to have them come forward much sooner so they can enjoy their $30 million windfall.”

Four division one prizes remain unclaimed in Queensland over the past three years: $2 million in Cairns, $1 million in Morayfield, $1.02 million in Maroochydore and $1.35 million in Lutwyche.

Tuesday night’s winning numbers were 6, 45, 4, 35, 8, 28 and 27. The supplementary numbers were 22 and 34.
