DV8 is a comic book published by Wildstorm. The series revolves around the lives of a group of Gen-Active people (Called DV8, or referred to as "The Deviants"), initially living in New York under the supervision of Ivana Baiul, who sends them on life-threatening black ops assignments.
The series lasted 32 issues. The story of most DV8 members continued in the pages of Gen-Active, an anthology-series featuring various Wildstorm characters. Gen-Active lasted 6 issues.
Writer, Micah Wright, pitched a relaunch to WildStorm in 2003, but it was not picked up by the publisher. The artist on the book would have been Mark Robinson (Codename: Knockout).
The title returned in June 2010 as an eight-issue limited series called DV8: Gods and Monsters, written by Brian Wood with art by Rebekah Isaacs. The project is something Wood had been trying to get commissioned for years:
Rather than saving the world, they use their powers for selfish reasons: to please themselves, indulge in any fancy that comes their way, uncaring about anybody else, and to forget that they are all just pawns to Ivana, expendable to her needs and desires. The members don't like each other, but are soon banding together for survival. This is what stands this book apart from most other superhero teams: they aren't heroes, they are not nice people, don't even like each other and can't even save themselves, let alone the world.
DV8 Physical Theatre is a physically integrated dance company based at Artsadmin in London, United Kingdom. It was officially founded in 1986 by Lloyd Newson (1986-2015), Michelle Richecoeur(1986-1988) and Nigel Charnock (1986-1989, 1992). Lloyd Newson has led the company as choreographer and artistic director since its inception, apart from the production My Sex, Our Dance (1986), which was co-created and performed with Nigel Charnock.
DV8's work is characterised by the desire to communicate ideas and feelings clearly and unpretentiously, often with a focus on socio-political issues. The work challenges the limitations of dance by using any means necessary to find the most appropriate way to say something, thereby incorporating elements of theatre, dance, film, and, increasingly, text. DV8 has toured work in the UK and to 28 countries worldwide, and received 55 national and international awards.
Lloyd Newson founded DV8 Physical Theatre in 1986 in response to his frustration with the lack of subject matter in contemporary dance. He felt audiences were being ‘conned about the depth’ of (much) contemporary dance, which he saw as generally superficial; obsessed with 'aesthetics over content'. The first work Newson produced with the new company was made in partnership with Nigel Charnock, and was titled My Sex, Our Dance (1986); it tackled the emergence of AIDS and investigated the idea of trust, both emotionally and physically, between two gay men. This was followed by Deep End (1987) and Elemen T(H)ree Sex (1987): works which focused on heterosexual relationships. All three works toured the UK, and My Sex, Our Dance and Deep End were also performed in New York as part of the Next Wave Festival (held at the Brooklyn Academy of Music) in 1988.

Enter Achilles is a performance created by the theatre company, DV8 Physical Theatre and directed by Lloyd Newson. First performed on 7 June 1995 at Vienna Festwochen in Vienna, Austria, the piece initially toured around the UK and Europe in 1995, before moving to Australia in early 1996. The performance was later revived and toured in 1997, visiting Europe and North America, and again in 1998, where it toured Europe and Japan.
The performance, with a run time of 75 minutes, explores masculinity and our perception of the stereotypical 'bloke'. Set in a dark, dusty, British pub, a group of men gather around the blasting jukebox, a pint in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Movement and dance based, this physical theatre performance uncovers the men's insecurities and vulnerability. The concept of gender is investigated through the understanding of what we deem as 'unmanly' and this is closely represented through the gestures, action and movement of the performers, a technique which is often associated with the work of Lloyd Newson and DV8. Looking at conformity regarding male relationships, friendships and identity the performance attempts to realise the struggle of being a 'real' man. The piece is an exploration, concentrating on the complications of existence within a mans world. After receiving its world premiere in Vienna in 1995, the piece went on to tour extensively, and was critically acclaimed, with Rupert Christiansen in The Observer stating that it was 'heartening to find DV8 blazing a fresh, dangerous trail'.
Cost of living is the cost of maintaining a certain standard of living. Changes in the cost of living over time are often operationalized in a cost of living index. Cost of living calculations are also used to compare the cost of maintaining a certain standard of living in different geographic areas. Differences in cost of living between locations can also be measured in terms of purchasing power parity rates.
Employment contracts, pension benefits, and government entitlements such as Social Security can be tied to a cost-of-living index, typically to the consumer price index (CPI). A COLA adjusts salaries based on changes in a cost-of-living index. Salaries are typically adjusted annually. They may also be tied to a cost-of-living index that varies by geographic location if the employee moves. In this later case, the expatriate employee will likely see only the discretionary income part of their salary indexed by a differential CPI between the new and old employment locations, leaving the non-discretionary part of the salary (e.g., mortgage payments, insurance, car payments) unmodified.

DV8's stunningly brilliant and disturbing dance. It's so unsettling to watch at first, but you find that you can't draw your eye's from the screen, at points I found myself holding my breath. It's a master class in storytelling. A triumph of physical dance theatre.
Dust, sacred blood
Dissolving into the earth
Rebirth from suffering
Circle of the insane
Ancient Druid cults
Hellpath to freedom
Molecular exposion
Spirit of earth aflame
Carved in blood, straight to Hell
The pentagram gate
Carved in blood
The asylum walls
Became their soultrap
Flesh will set them free
Sacrifice and pain
Subterranean wrath
Routes straight to Hell
Carved in blood, straight to Hell
Behind the Druid walls
Breathing the dust
Inside the druid walls
We are legion
Cursed entrapped
Alive but dead
Light up the paths
On demon's speed
A thousaind cries
A thousaind souls
Criminally insane
We are free
Carved in blood
Breathing the dust
Sacrifice and pain
Subterranean wrath
Routes straight to Hell
A thousaind cries
A thousaind souls
