A drug is any substance other than food, that when inhaled, injected, smoked, consumed, absorbed via a patch on the skin or dissolved under the tongue causes a physiological change in the body.
In pharmacology, a pharmaceutical drug or medicine, is a chemical substance used to treat, cure, prevent, diagnose a disease or promote well-being. Traditionally drugs were obtained through extraction from medicinal plants, but more recently also by organic synthesis. Pharmaceutical drugs may be used for a limited duration, or on a regular basis for chronic disorders.
Pharmaceutical drugs are often classified into drug classes—groups of related drugs that have similar chemical structures, the same mechanism of action (binding to the same biological target), a related mode of action, and that are used to treat the same disease. The Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical Classification System (ATC), the most widely used drug classification system, assigns drugs a unique ATC code, which is an alphanumeric code that assigns it to specific drug classes within the ATC system. Another major classification system is the Biopharmaceutics Classification System. This classifies drugs according to their solubility and permeability or absorption properties.
The term drug overdose (or simply overdose or OD) describes the ingestion or application of a drug or other substance in quantities greater than are recommended or generally practiced. An overdose may result in a toxic state or death.
The word "overdose" implies that there is a common safe dosage and usage for the drug; therefore, the term is commonly only applied to drugs, not poisons, though even poisons are harmless at a low enough dosage.
Drug overdoses are sometimes caused intentionally to commit suicide or as self-harm, but many drug overdoses are accidental, the result of intentional or unintentional misuse of medication. Intentional misuse leading to overdose can include using prescribed or unprescribed drugs in excessive quantities in an attempt to produce euphoria.
Usage of illicit drugs of unexpected purity, in large quantities, or after a period of drug abstinence can also induce overdose. Cocaine users who inject intravenously can easily overdose accidentally, as the margin between a pleasurable drug sensation and an overdose is small.
Wikimedia Commons (or simply Commons) is an online repository of free-use images, sound, and other media files. It is a project of the Wikimedia Foundation.
Files from Wikimedia Commons can be used across all Wikimedia projects in all languages, including Wikipedia, Wikibooks, Wikivoyage, Wikispecies, Wikisource, and Wikinews, or downloaded for offsite use. The repository contains over 30 million media files. In July 2013, the number of edits on Commons reached 100,000,000.
The project was proposed by Erik Möller in March 2004 and launched on September 7, 2004. A key motivation behind the setup of a central repository was the desire to reduce duplication of effort across the Wikimedia projects and languages, as the same file had to be uploaded to many different wikis separately before Commons was created.
Several sister projects (e.g. Dutch, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Spanish, Basque, Polish, Czech and Slovak Wikipedias) moved all their media content to Commons and stopped allowing local uploading. Some projects, such as the English Wikipedia, have more compliant copyright policy and allow to upload and keep files which are not acceptable at Commons, e.g. fair use images.

The title says "drug related deaths", which means they all had some type of drug in their system at the time of death. Doesn't necessarily mean that was the main reason. There may also be spelling errors. Finally, I do not provide the year in which they died because the topic of this video is drug related. PS: I didn't mention anything about alcohol in the opening segment because well... it's all common knowledge. SHARE! SUBSCRIBE! ENJOY!

It's dangerous, highly addictive and kills in one dose. It looks like concrete, and it is deadly.
From 1999 to 2015, the number of people who died from drug overdoses tripled, according to a new report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Almost half of them were caused by heroin and other opioids. Opioids are driving down the life expectancy for white Americans, whose rate of fatal drug overdoses is rising faster than that of any other ethnic group. RT America’s Trinity Chavez has the story. Recording of April 26, 2017, webinar talk by Shannon Monnat of Penn State University. Since 1999, nearly 2 million people living in the U.S. have died from causes related to drugs, alcohol, and suicide. The highest rates are among young and middle-aged non-Hispanic whites, especially those living in nonmetropolitan areas. This webinar will describe trends in drug, alcohol, and suicide mortality in the U.S., explore some of the potential explanations for why rates have increased over the past two decades and why these deaths are more prevalent in certain geographic areas, and discuss what it will take to counter these trends. To see upcoming webinars from the Institute for Research on Poverty go to http://www.irp.wisc.edu/publications/media/webinars.htm

Death By Medicine takes a hard examination at the dominant medical paradigm contributing to America’s health crisis. Based on Gary Null’s ground breaking book on the hundreds of thousands of injuries and deaths caused by conventional medicine, the documentary looks at the medical industrial complex, the pharmaceutical industry’s usurpation of the nation’s medical schools, research, falsified drug clinical trials, peer reviewed scientific journals, and the complicity of federal health agencies to permit this to happen. The result is a medical system unfounded on sound science. Why is there a lack of oversight by government regulatory agencies and private interest lobbyists call the shots for national healthcare? From FDA and FBI raids on cherry and dairy farmers to the halls of Congress, we...

Deaths from narcotic or opioid overdoses kill as many Americans as motor vehicle accidents, gun related deaths and AIDS. While these drugs achieved widespread use to control chronic pain, recreational abuse remains extremely prevalent and rising in incidence. Between 2007–2012 wholesalers sent more than 750,000,000 oxycodone and hydrocodone to West Virginia with a population of less than 2 million. Without appropriate governmental intervention, this problem seems destined to wreak more havoc on the general public.
Beginning in the late 1990s, deaths from alcoholism-related liver disease, suicide, and opioid overdoses began to climb nationwide. Such “deaths of despair,” as Princeton economists Anne Case and Angus Deaton call them, most frequently strike less educated whites, both men and women, between the ages of 45 and 54. Rates of opioid abuse, addiction, and fatal overdose rise along with unemployment. A distinguished panel will discuss the forces contributing to the problem. What kinds of clinical, social welfare, and economic programs and policies can reverse it, and what role should the federal government play? This will be the first in a series of discussions on opioids and society. Subscribe to AEI's YouTube Channel https://www.youtube.com/user/AEIVideos?sub_confirmation=1 Like us on Face...
