Dirty Drone #14 - Handmade Standalone Drone Generator

Bass-heavy drone-generator in recycled wooden box with handstamped aluminium faceplate , painted in black/greytones/white. DD#14 has 4 drone-oscillators, each is controlled by one frequency pot and one 3-position toggle switch, that selects the way the oscillator is mixed (RESistor/Off/DIOde) witht he others. Two of the oscillators are modulated by one (the same) LFO, that has a toggleswitch for fast and a slow setting and a speed and a depth control pot. The summed signal of all active oscillators is routed through a resonant low pass filter section with a 3-position toggleswitch for mid/hi/low frequency ranges, as well as resonance and cutoff frequency control pots and and of course one for the output volume.  Handmade in Finland by METSÄÄN.

  • Output: 6,3mm mono-jack
  • Powersupply (included): 9-12V DC, 2,1mm DC jack (inside -/+ outside)
  • Size: 33.5 X 9 X 9cm

Kakofonator Plus #2 - Handmade Noise/Beat Degenerator

The KAKOFONATOR PLUS #2 is housed in a black selfbuild wooden box with a handstamped aluminium faceplate. It works as a standalone noise generator. 4 oscillators with different frequency ranges are controlled with a toggle switch for activation and a pot for frequency control. 2 LFOs can each be routed to modulate one of the oscillators (LFO1 > OSC1/OFF/OSC2) and (LFO2 > OSC3/OFF/OSC4) or switched off with 2 3-position toggle switches. All oscillators are affected by the starve pot, that limits the power they can draw, resulting in a stochastic noise battle. If the power switch (indicated by a green LED) is in the off position, the black momentary  switch can be triggered for pulsed power supply, the decay of those pulses is controlled by the starve pot, indicated by a fading ultraviolet LED. If a (boosted) signal is injected into the input, it can either run through pretty clear or through a pre-amp stage with adjustable gain that is switched on or off with a toggleswitch. A mix pot allows to blend the sounds and a global volume pot tames the output signal. Handmade in Finland by METSÄÄN.

  • Output: 6,3mm mono-jack
  • Input: 6,3mm mono-jack
  • Powersupply: 9V DC, 2,1mm DC jack (inside -/+ outside)
  • Size: 20cm X 20cm X 5.5cm (including pots)

For a Demovideo of the functions please check out the one i made for the Kakofonator Plus #1, as i currently have no means to make a new video.

Neptune Delay #2 - Timebending Footswitch Pedal

Have you  ever wished you could twist the TIME pot on a delay while playing one of those instruments that require two hands to play them? Here’s a solution for you with a momentary footswitch to “bend time” while playing. It runs on a standart 9VDC pedal supply, is true bypass and has a UV indicator LED. It’s based on Culture Jam’s circuit and here’s what they say about it in their own words:

“Here is my two cents thrown in to the bucket of PT2399-based delay circuits. It features aggressive low-pass filtering on the delay line to virtually eliminate the nasty artifacts that often plague PT2399 delays; and it also sports a momentary footswitch that modulates the delay time, allowing for some cool pitch-bending sounds and really funky detune effects. It can also be made to sound sort of like a lap steel (in a way). The base of the circuit is derived from madbean’s “Sea Urchin” circuit. Then cranked up the filtering and added the modulation footswitch.”

Double Dirty Drone #1 - Handmade Stereo Drone Generator

Handmade bass-heavy double drone-generator in a recycled wooden box with a faceplate made of aluminium and black plastique. Get lost in sounds that slowly evolve and shift by controlling each of the two drone channels (left/right). Both drone channels consist of  3 drone-oscillators and each of those is controlled by 2 pots, one toggle switch for frequency range (low/hi/mid) and one body-contact that lets you modulate the sound by touching it. One of each channel’s drone oscillators can optionally be controlled by light/darkness with an LDR (light dependent resistor), that can be activated with a toggle switch and works best in dark places. One other channel of each drone oscillators is modulated by a very slow LFO with a depth control and ultraviolet indicator LEDs. Both channel’s summed signal is routed through a resonant filter section with a frequency and a resonance control, as well as a shape pot that “mixes” the dry and the the filtered signal in a way that is “subtractive” in the middle section of the dial and of course a  global volume control. Those controls are synced by stereo-potetiometers so the setting of the filter and the volume for both channels are always the same. Handmade in Finland by METSÄÄN.

  • Output: 2 X 6,3mm mono-jack.
  • Input: 9 -12V DC, 2,1mm DC jack (inside -/+ outside)
  • Size: 35 X 17,5 X 11,5 cm

Kakofonator #1 - Handmade Noise Degenerator

The Kakofonator is a Noise Degenerator bases on A.Harrison’s Cacophonator. It has 6 Oscillators, 2 of them LFOs. All of them affect each other, when the Starve pot is limiting the available current, it is resulting in interesting and chaotic sounds from drones to broken up rhythms. 5 Bodycontacts modulate the 4 Oscillators sounds and each of those 4 Oscillators has a toggleswitch each to choose between two frequency ranges. But it’s the very slowly decaying sound, that makes the Kacofonator special, if you switch off the power, the sound gradually starves to zero. This acoustic starvation process can take up to 10 minutes and is a audible pleasure, if you like the sound of decay or things breaking apart. The power indicator LED is ultraviolet. The case is made from recycled wood painted black and a faceplate made from recycled black plastique. Made in Finland by METSÄÄN.

  • Output: 6,3mm mono-jack.
  • Input: 9V DC, 2,1mm DC jack (inside -/+ outside)
