Yosemite Falls This image was taken in May 2017 in the Yosemite National Park, California. On a visit to Yosemite National Park in California we were blown away by the majestic monoliths, forests and waterfalls. Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in the Park, dropping a total of 739 metres from the top of the upper fall to the base of the lower fall. Our visit was in late spring when the water flow was at its peak. This shot highlights the raging falls and their reflection from the valley floor. Photo: Ian Grant -
In the back laneways of Varanasi, India a small doorway led to the darkened confines of a weaving room. With only one or two small windows which allowed natural light to filter an ambience was created. The focus of the weavers was intense; their gaze transfixed on the looms before them, whilst their hands worked rapidly and deftly to produce beautiful crafts. Photo: Clara Davies -
The Denali Mountain, Alaska, appearing in all it's glory. The bus driver told us only 30% of visitors to the national park get to see this mountain as it's mostly covered in clouds. Truly a wow moment in life Photo: Karin Darker -
Sunset view of Peggy's Point Lighthouse at Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia. If you look carefully, you can see a family to the right of the lighthouse taking in the view. Photo: Robyn Bowes -
These 2 women are both 80 years of age, or so I was told by my guide. This pic was taken in the early morning on the Thu Bon river near Hoi An. Photo: Adrian Whear -
View from within the Lower Antelope Slot Canyon, located on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona USA. Known as HazdistazĂ, or "Spiral Rock Arches" by the Navajo. Photo: Gavin Czerwonka -
I took this photo of this friendly little toucan at the Parque Das Aves in Brazil near Foz de Iguacu in June, 2016. Up close you can appreciate the enormity of his beak which looked fake, rather like a piece of orange coloured vinyl. It was, however, very real and he wasn't afraid to use it on visitors! Sleeping under the stars and then waking up to this, an amazing hot-air balloon show over the fairy chimneys of Cappadocia, Turkey. Photo: Reema Hamdan -
This image was taken in May 2017 at El Portal, California. Sitting on the back verandah of our El Portal B&B; just outside Yosemite National Park in California, I was mesmerized by the Humming Birds hovering around and feeding near the Merced River. Most of the birds were females, which are predominantly green, but then I spied this male with its spectacular scarlet collar. Photo: Ian Grant -
Visiting the volcanic island of Heimaey, Iceland, I was on a puffin seeking excursion. I came upon this sheep calmly surveying the amazing landscape, with the mainland of Iceland in the background. The island was remarkably fertile and brimming with life considering it was all but obliterated by major eruptions in 1973. An astonishing place. Photo: David Rabl -
This photo was taken in Torres del Paine National Park, Patagonia, Chile, in late December 2016. I love this image because it captures the natural beauty, vibrant colours and dramatic landscape of the national park. To give some perspective, there is a person in the shot, they are standing almost directly in the middle of the photo and just below the lake. They are roughly 4-5km from the base of the mountains, this photograph captures the sheer size and supremacy of the world in which we live.- Flint Harley Photo: Flint Harley -
Waking up to this sun rise out of our cabin window started the perfect day on the backwaters of Kerala' Photo: Colin Sutherland -
To celebrate the holy Islamic celebration of Eid, I went on an island-hopping tour along the Mediterranean coast, Turkey. This super cute couple rowed their rickety boat along our yacht congratulating everyone on this special occasion and throwing lollies at us hahaha. Photo: Reema Hamdan -
