Sobre la obra
La obra tiene como escenario una trinchera subterránea.
El desconcertado soldado Norton se encuentra solo en el "campo de batalla", temeroso y desorientado. Repentinamente recibe la visita de sus padres, los señores Breakfast que le proponen hacer un "día de campo" para salir del "aburrimiento" de la guerra.
Norton trata de deshacerse de ellos siendo fiel a todo lo que dicta "El protocolo de guerra". De pronto entra en escena Morton, soldado que representa al tercer mundo (es decir, al enemigo); entonces, lo hacen prisionero. Luego suceden una serie de hechos y dichos trágicos y absurdos teniendo marcando como norte la crítica a nuestro presente estilo de vida y su sentido, entre el consumismo y la cotidianidad de la violencia.

Since 1975, it has been ruled by a Marxist and communist government. Its population was estimated to be around 6.8 million in July 2014.
Laos traces its history to the kingdom of Lan Xang, which existed from the 14th to the 18th century when it split into three kingdoms. In 1893, it became a French protectorate, with the three kingdoms—Luang Phrabang, Vientiane and Champasak — uniting to form what is now known as Laos. It briefly gained independence in 1945 after Japanese occupation, but returned to French rule until it was granted autonomy in 1949. Laos became independent in 1953, with a constitutional monarchy under Sisavang Vong. Shortly after independence, a long civil war ended the monarchy, when the Communist Pathet Lao movement came to power in 1975.

Sobre la obra
La obra tiene como escenario una trinchera subterránea.
El desconcertado soldado Norton se encuentra solo en el "campo de batalla", temeroso y desorientado. Repentinamente recibe la visita de sus padres, los señores Breakfast que le proponen hacer un "día de campo" para salir del "aburrimiento" de la guerra.
Norton trata de deshacerse de ellos siendo fiel a todo lo que dicta "El protocolo de guerra". De pronto entra en escena Morton, soldado que representa al tercer mundo (es decir, al enemigo); entonces, lo hacen prisionero. Luego suceden una serie de hechos y dichos trágicos y absurdos teniendo marcando como norte la crítica a nuestro presente estilo de vida y su sentido, entre el consumismo y la cotidianidad de la violencia.

Having visited the city several times before, I convinced Audrey – who was visiting for the first time – to stay for several weeks for an opportunity to relax and really appreciate all that the city has to offer. We spent our time exploring local temples such as Wat Xieng Thong, climbing hills such as Mount Phou si for great views of the city, visiting the night market, gormandizing on local Lao cuisine and learning how to cook Lao food. What really won us over though is the lack of street traffic, slower pace of life and charming colonial architecture. It's a city where you'll want to linger for days on end and if we decided to return to SE Asia - in the near future - it is a potential base for us. After reluctantly leaving Luang Prabang, we ended up in the capital city of Vientiane after taking the overnight bus. Although Vientiane, has a bit of a bum rap (some have called it the most boring capital city in Asia) we happen to think it's a decent stopover for a couple of nights. You can spend your days exploring museums and temples and your nights cooling off along the Mekong River (where you'll notice locals exercising and relaxing) before grabbing tasty intentional cuisine. Laos is a tropical country in the heart of Indochina and was once known as ‘The realm of a million elephants’. Set amid mountains and surrounded by China, Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar, Laos lay undiscovered for many years but today it is gradually opening its doors and its dreamlike royal cities, contemplative temple complexes, mysterious plains and ethnic mountain villages are now accessible to all. The capital, Vientiane, originated at the point at which the first navigable section of the Mekong River joins with the Gulf Of Thailand, once an important trading route to South China. We travel north into the pure Asia of bygone times, a land full of adventure where there is little tourism, past many villages with small markets at the roadside and various temple complexes. Most of Laos consists of rugged mountain areas and only a small number of roads connect the country’s few large towns. We repeatedly pass through large valleys flanked by densely wooded mountain slopes until karst covered mountains appear and reveal yet another captivating landscape. Amid this romantic area on the banks of the Mekong River is a town that is one of Laos’ most impressive historic destinations, Luang Prabang, which became the official residence of the monarchy in 1453 and remained so for several centuries. Thirty five monasteries that accommodate around seven hundred monks as well as a thousand novices and also the city’s many splendid temples highlight the deep religious faith that determines the everyday life of Luang Prabang. Easy Go Hostel, Vang Vieng, not exactly the most luxurious place but the friendliest atmosphere! So easy to meet people and really friendly staff. Good location too.

It is developing quickly but still has much of the tradition that has sadly disappeared elsewhere in the region.
Thailand promotes itself as amazing, Vietnam can well be described as bustling, Cambodia's Khmer temples are awe-inspiring... but the adjective that was most often applied to Laos is forgotten, this is changing fast however, with tourism being the biggest growth sector in Laos with ever rising visitor numbers under it's new tourism slogan 'Simply beautiful'. Visitors who are drawn by the laid-back lifestyle and the opportunity to watch the sunsets on the Mekong will simply explain the attraction by revealing that the true meaning of "Lao PDR" is Lao - Please Don't Rush.
Village life is refreshingly simple and even in Vientiane it's hard to believe this sort of languid riverfront life exists in a national capital. Then, of course, there is the historic royal city of Luang Prabang, where watching as hundreds of saffron-robed monks move silently among centuries-old monasteries is as romantic a scene as you'll experience anywhere in Asia.
