Sinopsis
En el ambiente popular de un barrio de Nápoles, la joven Assunta Spina (Francesca Bertini), que trabaja de planchadora, está prometida a Michele (Gustavo Serena). Alertado por una carta anónima, que le avisa de alguien pretende también a Assunta, Michele estalla tras la fiesta de cumpleaños de su amada, en la que ésta acepta bailar con el joven Raffaele. Michele, celoso, golpea brutalmente y en público en la cara a Assunta, lo que lleva a los carabineros a detenerlo. Synopsis / Plot
Assunta Spina is a tragedy set in Naples at the beginning of the twentieth century. Assunta and Michele are in love but others come between them and there is much jealousy. They fight and Michele is sent to prison for two years for assault. Nevertheless, because Assunta still loves Michele she is vulnerable when Federigo offers to help Michele but only if Assunta becomes his mistress. Michele is released early from prison, finds Assunta and Federigo together and kills Federigo. When the police arrive, Assunta takes the blame for Michele's crime.

“How Greediness Spoilt Foolshead's Christmas” (Aka “Comment la gourmandise gata le Noel de Gribouille” / Fr. or “Come fu che l'ingordigia rovinò il Natale a Cretinetti” / It., 1910, is an Italian comedy silent film starring and directed by Andre Deed.
Henri André Chapais, known as André Deed, was a French-born actor and director, best known for his Foolshead comedies, produced in the 1900s and 1910s. André Deed was one of the first named actors in cinema, and his film series based around Foolshead were a global success.
In 1901, cinema pioneer Georges Méliès directed André Deed in several films. Deed would later incorporate many of Méliès' trick-shots into his comedies.
In 1908, Deed negotiated a lucrative move to the Itala studios in Turin, and he began starring and directing in the Cretinetti comedy series. Alberto Collo and Emilio Ghione, who would become two of the most famous Italian actors of the 1910s, and Deed's future wife, Valentina Frascaroli, were amongst the supporting cast in these films.
In 1913, Deed embarked on a world theatrical tour with Frascaroli, taking in Europe and Latin America. Despite being thirty-five years of age, André was conscripted into the reserves. In 1915, Giovanni Pastrone asked him to return to Turin to continue the Cretinetti series for Itala films. Deed made the feature film, Cretinetti e gli stivali del brasilero (Cretinetti and the Brazilian's boots), which featured Bartolomeo Pagano, the star of Cabiria and the Maciste series, in a cameo role.
By 191X, Deed returned to France and served in various logistics and infantry regiments. It is likely that he served in the trenches at some point, but nothing is known about his war service, beyond the dates of his transfers between regiments. In 1918, Deed married Valentina Frascaroli. Deed was demobilised in 1919.
Deed planned a trilogy of fantasy-adventure films: Il documento umano (1920), L'Uomo Meccanico (The Mechanical Man) (1921) and Lo strano amore di Mado, which was never made.
Deed finished his career working as a warehouseman at the Pathe film studios located in the Parisian suburb of Joinville-le-Pont.
André Deed died on October 4, 1940 and is buried at the Cimetière de Thiais, near Paris. He was survived by his wife, Valentina Frascaroli, who died in 1955.

Collo
Collo (Arabic: القل) is the capital, and one of three municipalities, of Collo district in Skikda Province, Algeria, and a Catholic titular episcopal see under its Roman name Chullu. In 1998 it had a population of 27,800.
History
In Roman times it was a city in the province of Numidia, called Chullu. At the joint Conference of Carthage that in 411 brought together Catholic and Donatist bishops of Roman Africa, Chullu was represented by the Catholic bishop Victor and the Donatist Fidentius. In 484, Quidvultdeus was one of the Catholic bishops that the Arian Vandal king Huneric summoned to Carthage and then exiled. Bishop Aurelius of 256 is assigned to this diocese by 19th-century Morcelli, but to Cillium (modern Kasserine) by 20th-century Berthier and Mesnage.
In 1282, king Peter III of Aragon led an expedition to Collo, in proclaimed support of a rebellion against the ruler of Tunis. The rebellion had collapsed before Peter arrived, but he kept his army there for several weeks until, in the wake of the Sicilian Vespers, envoys from Sicily came to Collo to offer him its throne. The resulting war continued until 1301.

Gustavo Serena (5 October 1881 – 16 April 1970) was an Italian actor and film director. He appeared in 107 films between 1909 and 1961. He also directed 33 films between 1912 and 1932. He was born in Naples and died in Rome.

Francesca Bertini
Francesca Bertini (born Elena Seracini Vitiello; 11 April 1892 – 13 October 1985) was an Italian silent film actress. She was one of the most successful silent film stars in the first quarter of the twentieth-century.
Biography
Born in Florence, she was daughter of a comic theatre actress. Bertini began performing on stages as a child, particularly in Naples, where her family was settled. In 1904, at the age of 16, she moved to Rome, where she improved her acting skills, especially on theatre stages, and attempted to perform in the just-born Italian movie production.
Her first important movie, Histoire d'un pierrot, was under the direction of Baldassarre Negroni in 1913. Gradually she developed her beauty and elegance, plus a strong, intense, and charming personality, which would be the key of her success as a silent movie actress. With Assunta Spina in 1915 she took care of the scripts as well as performing the role of the main character. Bertini was popular internationally, her sophistication emulated around the world by women moviegoers. Reputedly, in 1915 she earned $175,000—a record for the time; Mary Pickford wouldn't catch up until the following year. She developed the current acting techniques of movie actresses by making it more sober, banning broad gestures or the mincing ways of the Diva. She is one of the first film actresses to focus on reality, rather than on a dramatic stereotype, an anticipation of Neorealistic canons. The expression of authentic feelings was the key of her success through many films. She could perform with success the languid decadent heroine as well as the popular common woman. Other important roles were Odette, Fedora, Tosca and the Lady of the Camellias.

Sinopsis

Synopsis / Plot
Assunta Spina is a tragedy set in Naples at the beginning of the twentieth century. Assunta and Michele are in love but others come between them and there is much jealousy. They fight and Michele is sent to prison for two years for assault. Nevertheless, because Assunta still loves Michele she is vulnerable when Federigo offers to help Michele but only if Assunta becomes his mistress. Michele is released early from prison, finds Assunta and Federigo together and kills Federigo. When the police arrive, Assunta takes the blame for Michele's crime.

In 1908, Deed negotiated a lucrative move to the Itala studios in Turin, and he began starring and directing in the Cretinetti comedy series. Alberto Collo and Emilio Ghione, who would become two of the most famous Italian actors of the 1910s, and Deed's future wife, Valentina Frascaroli, were amongst the supporting cast in these films.
In 1913, Deed embarked on a world theatrical tour with Frascaroli, taking in Europe and Latin America. Despite being thirty-five years of age, André was conscripted into the reserves. In 1915, Giovanni Pastrone asked him to return to Turin to continue the Cretinetti series for Itala films. Deed made the feature film, Cretinetti e gli stivali del brasilero (Cretinetti and the Brazilian's boots), which featured Bartolomeo Pagano, the star of Cabiria and the Maciste series, in a cameo role.
By 191X, Deed returned to France and served in various logistics and infantry regiments. It is likely that he served in the trenches at some point, but nothing is known about his war service, beyond the dates of his transfers between regiments. In 1918, Deed married Valentina Frascaroli. Deed was demobilised in 1919.
Deed planned a trilogy of fantasy-adventure films: Il documento umano (1920), L'Uomo Meccanico (The Mechanical Man) (1921) and Lo strano amore di Mado, which was never made.
Deed finished his career working as a warehouseman at the Pathe film studios located in the Parisian suburb of Joinville-le-Pont.
André Deed died on October 4, 1940 and is buried at the Cimetière de Thiais, near Paris. He was survived by his wife, Valentina Frascaroli, who died in 1955.

Myofascial pain syndrome is a common chronic pain disorder that can affect various parts of the body. Myofascial pain syndrome is characterized by presence of hyperirritable spots located in skeletal muscle called trigger points. A trigger point can be felt as a band or a nodule of muscle with harder than normal consistency. Palpation of trigger points may elicit pain in a different area of the body. This is called referred pain. Referred pain makes diagnosis difficult as the pain mimics symptoms of more well-known common conditions. For example, trigger point related pain in the head and neck region may manifest as tension headache, temporomandibular joint pain, eye pain, or tinnitus.
Symptoms of myofascial pain syndrome include regional, persistent pain, commonly associated with limited range of motion of the affected muscle. The pain is most frequently found in the head, neck, shoulders, extremities, and lower back.
Trigger points are developed as a result of muscle injury. This can be acute trauma caused by sport injury, accident, or chronic muscle overuse brought by repetitive occupational activities, emotional stress or poor posture. A trigger point is composed of many contraction knots where individual muscle fibers contract and cannot relax. These fibers make the muscle shorter and constitute a taut band -- a group of tense muscle fibers extending from the trigger point to muscle attachment. The sustained contraction of muscle sarcomeres compresses local blood supply, resulting in energy shortage of the area. This metabolic crisis activates pain receptors, generating a regional pain pattern that follows a specific nerve passage. The pain patterns are therefore consistent and are well documented for various muscles.
Treatment of myofascial pain syndrome aims to release trigger points and return the affected muscle to original length and strength. Common treatment options include:
- Manual therapy, such as massage, involves application of certain amount of pressure to release trigger points. The outcome of manual therapy strongly depends on the skill level of the therapist.
- The Spray and Stretch technique makes use of a vapor coolant to quickly decrease skin temperature while passively stretching the target muscle. A sudden drop in skin temperature provides a pain relief effect, allowing the muscle to fully stretch, and thus releasing the trigger points.
- Trigger point injections with saline, local anesthetics or steroids are well accepted as effective treatments for myofascial trigger points.
- Dry needling -- insertion of a needle without injecting any solution - is reported to be as effective as injections.

Ad un certo punto sentiamo il clackson di una macchina suonare da fuori, mi affaccio e vedo louis e gli faccio un cenno per fargli capire che l'ho visto.

Mentre bevevo la mia bevanda alcolica preferita: il bayles, sento delle grandi mani che mi circondano i fianchi e subito mi giro di scatto e noto lui, l'unica persona che volevo vedere in questo momento.. Harry.
