Setting Goals

A goal post gets some TLC on one of the University's Greentree Practice Fields. UM plans to build the 81,000-square-foot Carol Soffer Football Indoor Practice Facility on the adjacent turf field, thanks to a $14 million pledge from the Soffer Family, $1 million from Coach Mark Richt, B.B.A. '82, and his wife, another $9 million raised in pledges, and $10 million still to be raised.

“Hey, Mom. Want to build a bridge?” student Hannah Weese asked, half joking, But Elizabeth Grass Weese agreed, donating $1 million from the Grass Family Foundation to create the 210-foot Fate Bridge across Lake Osceola in memory of Hannah’s grandfather Alexander Grass, the Rite Aid founder.
