Joseph was the 11th son of Jacob, and his story is found in Genesis 37–50. As a 17-year-old shepherd, Joseph is something of a tattle-tale, bringing a bad report about his brothers to their father (Genesis 37:2). This behavior, combined with Jacob’s overt favoritism towards Joseph, causes his older brothers to resent him to the point of hatred (37:3-4). Because of Jacob’s open love for Joseph, his favoritism was begrudged by his other sons. And when Jacob presented Joseph with a highly decorated coat, he was hated and resented by his brothers all the more (Genesis 37:3). To make matters worse, Joseph begins relating his dreams—prophetic visions showing Joseph one day ruling over his family (Genesis 37:11-15). The animosity towards Joseph peaks when his brothers plot to kill him in the wilderness. Reuben, the eldest, objects to outright murder, so instead, the brothers sell Joseph as a slave and deceive their father into thinking his favorite son had been slain by wild beasts (Genesis 37:18-35).
Joseph is sold to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar and eventually becomes the supervisor of Potiphar’s household. In Genesis 39 we read of how Joseph excelled at his duties and became one of Potiphar’s most trusted servants and was put in charge of his household. Potiphar could see that whatever Joseph did, God looked favorably on him and he prospered in all that he did. However, Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, and when her advances are rebuffed, she falsely accuses him of attempted rape. Joseph, although innocent in the matter, is cast into prison (Genesis 39:7-20). In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations prove to be true, and one of the men is later released from jail and restored to his position as the king’s cupbearer (40:1-23). Two years later, the king himself has some troubling dreams, and the cupbearer remembers Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and relates his dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of bountiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine in Egypt and advises the king to begin storing grain in preparation for the coming dearth (41:1-37). For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king (41:38-49).
When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (Genesis 42:1-3). While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph. Jacob’s descendants stay in Egypt for 400 years, until the time of Moses. When Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt, he takes the remains of Joseph with him, as Joseph had requested (Genesis 50:24-25; cf. Exodus 13:19).
There is much to learn from Joseph’s story. As parents, we have warnings concerning Jacob’s favoritism and the effects that can have on other children as seen in Joseph’s youthful pride and his brothers’ envy and hatred. We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23).
There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13).
Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Man’s most wicked intentions can never thwart the perfect plan of God.

Bob Boilen | October 28, 2016 - My first experience seeing Joseph was in 2014 as an opening act in New York City. It was just the twins Meegan and Allison Closner and their older sister, Natalie Closner, and it was clear then they had something special. Over these two years, Joseph's sound has grown beyond the Closners' harmonies. Now, you're likely to see them with a band or hear songs from their latest record, which is filled with sounds far beyond voice and acoustic guitar.
It's been a treat to witness Joseph's journey, but I was also fairly thrilled that for their Tiny Desk the sisters stripped it down to their original setup: three voices and one guitar. It's those essentials that will likely remain their strength, and hearing these songs from I'm Alone, No You're Not outside a studio setting felt not necessarily better, but certainly friendlier. Now that this band has 5 million listens (and that's only counting one song on Spotify), my guess is you may have missed this earlier sound. Here's a chance to hear the songs you love the way they could have been.

Virtual reality, 360-degree videos, social networks, video games that look like movies and movies that resemble video games:
I think that most of the entertainment`s world nowadays has become monstrous and it is no longer just eyes` illusion, but often illusion of the mind.
I do not know about you but personally, among all these innovation`s turbines, I find myself still attracted by ancient methods and tools which continue to fascinate me. Some time ago I came across a phenakistoscope (also spelled as phenakistiscope or phenakitiscope or phantasmascope or phantascope), an antique optical instrument that displays animated images (practically current animated gif) invented in 1832 by Joseph Plateau. I then found some scans of these circles on the Internet and I began to digitally animate them. After a few attempts, I started to combine these animations trying to create something original and unpublished. Eventually, in order to stay on, I created a stop motion with paper toys from nineteenth-century that open and close the video. The music was carefully crafted by Al-Maranca.
The result of all this work is called "L'illusion de Joseph" in honour of Joseph Plateau, inventor of phenakistoscope.

Non so voi ma io in tutto questo turbine di innovazione ancora sono attratto da strumenti e metodi antichi che continuano ad affascinarmi. Tempo fa mi sono imbattuto nel fenachistoscopio (anche conosciuto come fenachistiscopio, phenakistiscopio, fantasmascopio (phantasmascope) o fantascopio (phantascope), un antico strumento ottico che consente di visualizzare delle immagini animate (praticamente le nostre odierne gif animate) inventato da Joseph Plateau nel 1832. Su internet ho trovato delle scansioni di questi dischi ottocenteschi ed ho iniziato ad animarli digitalmente. Dopo un pò di tentativi ho cominciato a combinare queste animazioni cercando di creare qualcosa di originale ed inedito. Poi per rimanere in tema ho creato uno stop motion con dei paper toys ottocenteschi che aprono e chiudono il video. La musica è del mio amico e musicista Al Maranca.
Da tutto questo lavoro nasce “L'illusion de Joseph” in onore a Joseph Plateau, inventore del fenachistoscopio .

Joseph
"Joseph" is a masculine given name originating from Hebrew, recorded in the Hebrew Bible, as יוֹסֵף, Standard Hebrew Yossef, Tiberian Hebrew and Aramaic Yôsēp̄. In Arabic, including in the Qur'an, the name is spelled يوسف or Yūsuf. The name can be translated from Hebrew יהוה להוסיף YHWH Lhosif as signifying "JEHOVAH will increase/add".
In the Old Testament, Joseph is Jacob's eleventh son and Rachel's first (Yossef ben-Yaakov in the Jewish Bible). In the New Testament, Joseph is the husband of Mary, the mother of Jesus. Joseph Ole Nkaissery
Joseph Kasaine Ole Nkaissery is a Kenyan politician. He was a Member of Parliament in the National Assembly of Kenya from 2007 to 2014, when he resigned to take up a cabinet position as Secretary for Internal Security and Coordination of National Government. He is also a Senior elder of the Maasai community.
Life and career
Before joining politics, Nkaissery served in the Kenya Defence Forces, rising to the rank of major-general in the Kenya Army. He also served as a commandant of the Armed Forces Training College. He retired in December 2002 after 29 years of military service.
Nkaissery was elected to the National Assembly in 2007 and served as an Assistant Minister for Internal Security in the cabinet of President Mwai Kibaki from 2008 to 2013.
On 2 December 2014, Nkaissery was nominated by President Uhuru Kenyatta for the post of Cabinet Secretary for Internal Security, to replace Joseph Ole Lenku, and subject to approval by the Parliament of Kenya. Following his approval as Cabinet Secretary, Nkaissery stepped down as Member of Parliament for Kajiado Central Constituency.

Peter Joseph
Peter Joseph is an American independent filmmaker and activist. He is best known for the Zeitgeist film series, which he wrote, directed, narrated, scored, and produced. He is the founder of the related The Zeitgeist Movement. Other professional work includes directing the music video God Is Dead? for the band Black Sabbath
Early life and education
According to Joseph he was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and attended high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. After graduation, he moved to New York City to pursue a career in solo classical percussion performance, attending the New School for Social Research.
Career
Joseph began his professional career working in advertising and as a private equity trader on Wall Street. In 2007 he produced a live performance art piece that he entitled "Zeitgeist." The production was never intended for distribution, but was released online and went viral with millions of views. It became the first in a trilogy of films produced by Joseph, the others being Zeitgeist:Addendum and Zeitgeist:Moving Forward, released in 2008 and 2011 respectively.

Book of Genesis
The Book of Genesis (from the Latin Vulgate, in turn borrowed or transliterated from Greek γένεσις, meaning "origin"; Hebrew: בְּרֵאשִׁית, Bərēšīṯ, "In [the] beginning") is the first book of the Hebrew Bible (the Tanakh) and the Christian Old Testament.
The basic narrative expresses the central theme: God creates the world (along with creating the first man and woman) and appoints man as his regent, but man proves disobedient and God destroys his world through the Flood. The new post-Flood world is equally corrupt, but God does not destroy it, instead calling one man, Abraham, to be the seed of its salvation. At God's command Abraham descends from his home into the land of Canaan, given to him by God, where he dwells as a sojourner, as does his son Isaac and his grandson Jacob. Jacob's name is changed to Israel, and through the agency of his son Joseph, the children of Israel descend into Egypt, 70 people in all with their households, and God promises them a future of greatness. Genesis ends with Israel in Egypt, ready for the coming of Moses and the Exodus. The narrative is punctuated by a series of covenants with God, successively narrowing in scope from all mankind (the covenant with Noah) to a special relationship with one people alone (Abraham and his descendants through Isaac and Jacob).

Ruarri Joseph
Ruarri Joseph (born 3 January 1982) is a singer-songwriter. He was signed to Atlantic Records, and released his debut album, Tales of Grime and Grit, in mid-2007 on that label. Joseph is currently continuing his musical career on his own label, Pip Productions, after deciding to leave Atlantic in early 2008. Ruarri released his second album, Both Sides of The Coin, in February 2009. Joseph began work on his third studio album, Shoulder to the Wheel, later the same year, before releasing it independently in February 2010. The album had a wider physical and download release in November 2010, after Joseph secured a new management deal. His fourth studio album, Brother, was released in July 2012.
Biography
Early life and career
Joseph was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and after spending some of his childhood in New Zealand, moved to England in his teens. After attempting to pursue a career in London, Joseph moved to Newquay, Cornwall after the birth of his first child.
In Cornwall, Joseph continued his career in music, and played in a variety of bands such as Eli Bowen and The Rhythm Doctors. As a solo artist, Joseph played with an acoustic guitar and a piano, occasionally accompanied by a band. He finished recording an EP in 2006, "All Substance and No Style", and after a number of live performances in London, attracted record label interest. He toured widely in the UK, and made several appearances at music festivals including Glastonbury with the Rhythm Doctors in 2004.

We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23). There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13). Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). It was just the twins Meegan and Allison Closner and their older sister, Natalie Closner, and it was clear then they had something special. Over these two years, Joseph's sound has grown beyond the Closners' harmonies. Now, you're likely to see them with a band or hear songs from their latest record, which is filled with sounds far beyond voice and acoustic guitar. It's been a treat to witness Joseph's journey, but I was also fairly thrilled that for their Tiny Desk the sisters stripped it down to their original setup: three voices and one guitar. It's those essentials that will likely remain their strength, and hearing these songs from I'm Alone, No You're Not outside a studio setting felt not necessarily better, but certainly friendlier. Now that this band has 5 million listens (and that's only counting one song on Spotify), my guess is you may have missed this earlier sound. Virtual reality, 360-degree videos, social networks, video games that look like movies and movies that resemble video games: I think that most of the entertainment`s world nowadays has become monstrous and it is no longer just eyes` illusion, but often illusion of the mind. I do not know about you but personally, among all these innovation`s turbines, I find myself still attracted by ancient methods and tools which continue to fascinate me. Some time ago I came across a phenakistoscope (also spelled as phenakistiscope or phenakitiscope or phantasmascope or phantascope), an antique optical instrument that displays animated images (practically current animated gif) invented in 1832 by Joseph Plateau. I then found some scans of these circles on the Internet and I began to digitally animate them. After a few attempts, I started to combine these animations trying to create something original and unpublished. Eventually, in order to stay on, I created a stop motion with paper toys from nineteenth-century that open and close the video. The music was carefully crafted by Al-Maranca. The result of all this work is called "L'illusion de Joseph" in honour of Joseph Plateau, inventor of phenakistoscope. Tempo fa mi sono imbattuto nel fenachistoscopio (anche conosciuto come fenachistiscopio, phenakistiscopio, fantasmascopio (phantasmascope) o fantascopio (phantascope), un antico strumento ottico che consente di visualizzare delle immagini animate (praticamente le nostre odierne gif animate) inventato da Joseph Plateau nel 1832. Su internet ho trovato delle scansioni di questi dischi ottocenteschi ed ho iniziato ad animarli digitalmente. Dopo un pò di tentativi ho cominciato a combinare queste animazioni cercando di creare qualcosa di originale ed inedito. Poi per rimanere in tema ho creato uno stop motion con dei paper toys ottocenteschi che aprono e chiudono il video. La musica è del mio amico e musicista Al Maranca. Da tutto questo lavoro nasce “L'illusion de Joseph” in onore a Joseph Plateau, inventore del fenachistoscopio . Buona visione. -

As a 17-year-old shepherd, Joseph is something of a tattle-tale, bringing a bad report about his brothers to their father (Genesis 37:2). This behavior, combined with Jacob’s overt favoritism towards Joseph, causes his older brothers to resent him to the point of hatred (37:3-4). Because of Jacob’s open love for Joseph, his favoritism was begrudged by his other sons. And when Jacob presented Joseph with a highly decorated coat, he was hated and resented by his brothers all the more (Genesis 37:3). To make matters worse, Joseph begins relating his dreams—prophetic visions showing Joseph one day ruling over his family (Genesis 37:11-15). The animosity towards Joseph peaks when his brothers plot to kill him in the wilderness. Reuben, the eldest, objects to outright murder, so instead, the brothers sell Joseph as a slave and deceive their father into thinking his favorite son had been slain by wild beasts (Genesis 37:18-35).
Joseph is sold to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar and eventually becomes the supervisor of Potiphar’s household. In Genesis 39 we read of how Joseph excelled at his duties and became one of Potiphar’s most trusted servants and was put in charge of his household. Potiphar could see that whatever Joseph did, God looked favorably on him and he prospered in all that he did. However, Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, and when her advances are rebuffed, she falsely accuses him of attempted rape. Joseph, although innocent in the matter, is cast into prison (Genesis 39:7-20). In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations prove to be true, and one of the men is later released from jail and restored to his position as the king’s cupbearer (40:1-23). Two years later, the king himself has some troubling dreams, and the cupbearer remembers Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and relates his dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of bountiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine in Egypt and advises the king to begin storing grain in preparation for the coming dearth (41:1-37). For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king (41:38-49).
When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (Genesis 42:1-3). While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph. Jacob’s descendants stay in Egypt for 400 years, until the time of Moses. When Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt, he takes the remains of Joseph with him, as Joseph had requested (Genesis 50:24-25; cf. Exodus 13:19).
There is much to learn from Joseph’s story. As parents, we have warnings concerning Jacob’s favoritism and the effects that can have on other children as seen in Joseph’s youthful pride and his brothers’ envy and hatred. We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23).
There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13).
Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Man’s most wicked intentions can never thwart the perfect plan of God.

Because of Jacob’s open love for Joseph, his favoritism was begrudged by his other sons. And when Jacob presented Joseph with a highly decorated coat, he was hated and resented by his brothers all the more (Genesis 37:3). To make matters worse, Joseph begins relating his dreams—prophetic visions showing Joseph one day ruling over his family (Genesis 37:11-15). The animosity towards Joseph peaks when his brothers plot to kill him in the wilderness. Reuben, the eldest, objects to outright murder, so instead, the brothers sell Joseph as a slave and deceive their father into thinking his favorite son had been slain by wild beasts (Genesis 37:18-35).
Joseph is sold to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar and eventually becomes the supervisor of Potiphar’s household. In Genesis 39 we read of how Joseph excelled at his duties and became one of Potiphar’s most trusted servants and was put in charge of his household. Potiphar could see that whatever Joseph did, God looked favorably on him and he prospered in all that he did. However, Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, and when her advances are rebuffed, she falsely accuses him of attempted rape. Joseph, although innocent in the matter, is cast into prison (Genesis 39:7-20). In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations prove to be true, and one of the men is later released from jail and restored to his position as the king’s cupbearer (40:1-23). Two years later, the king himself has some troubling dreams, and the cupbearer remembers Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and relates his dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of bountiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine in Egypt and advises the king to begin storing grain in preparation for the coming dearth (41:1-37). For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king (41:38-49).
When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (Genesis 42:1-3). While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph. Jacob’s descendants stay in Egypt for 400 years, until the time of Moses. When Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt, he takes the remains of Joseph with him, as Joseph had requested (Genesis 50:24-25; cf. Exodus 13:19).
There is much to learn from Joseph’s story. As parents, we have warnings concerning Jacob’s favoritism and the effects that can have on other children as seen in Joseph’s youthful pride and his brothers’ envy and hatred. We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23).
There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13).
Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Man’s most wicked intentions can never thwart the perfect plan of God.

Bob Boilen | October 28, 2016 - My first experience seeing Joseph was in 2014 as an opening act in New York City. It was just the twins Meegan and Allison Closner and their older sister, Natalie Closner, and it was clear then they had something special. Over these two years, Joseph's sound has grown beyond the Closners' harmonies. Now, you're likely to see them with a band or hear songs from their latest record, which is filled with sounds far beyond voice and acoustic guitar.
It's been a treat to witness Joseph's journey, but I was also fairly thrilled that for their Tiny Desk the sisters stripped it down to their original setup: three voices and one guitar. It's those essentials that will likely remain their strength, and hearing these songs from I'm Alone, No You're Not outside a studio setting felt not necessarily better, but certainly friendlier. Now that this band has 5 million listens (and that's only counting one song on Spotify), my guess is you may have missed this earlier sound. Here's a chance to hear the songs you love the way they could have been.

Virtual reality, 360-degree videos, social networks, video games that look like movies and movies that resemble video games:
I think that most of the entertainment`s world nowadays has become monstrous and it is no longer just eyes` illusion, but often illusion of the mind.
I do not know about you but personally, among all these innovation`s turbines, I find myself still attracted by ancient methods and tools which continue to fascinate me. Some time ago I came across a phenakistoscope (also spelled as phenakistiscope or phenakitiscope or phantasmascope or phantascope), an antique optical instrument that displays animated images (practically current animated gif) invented in 1832 by Joseph Plateau. I then found some scans of these circles on the Internet and I began to digitally animate them. After a few attempts, I started to combine these animations trying to create something original and unpublished. Eventually, in order to stay on, I created a stop motion with paper toys from nineteenth-century that open and close the video. The music was carefully crafted by Al-Maranca.
The result of all this work is called "L'illusion de Joseph" in honour of Joseph Plateau, inventor of phenakistoscope.

Non so voi ma io in tutto questo turbine di innovazione ancora sono attratto da strumenti e metodi antichi che continuano ad affascinarmi. Tempo fa mi sono imbattuto nel fenachistoscopio (anche conosciuto come fenachistiscopio, phenakistiscopio, fantasmascopio (phantasmascope) o fantascopio (phantascope), un antico strumento ottico che consente di visualizzare delle immagini animate (praticamente le nostre odierne gif animate) inventato da Joseph Plateau nel 1832. Su internet ho trovato delle scansioni di questi dischi ottocenteschi ed ho iniziato ad animarli digitalmente. Dopo un pò di tentativi ho cominciato a combinare queste animazioni cercando di creare qualcosa di originale ed inedito. Poi per rimanere in tema ho creato uno stop motion con dei paper toys ottocenteschi che aprono e chiudono il video. La musica è del mio amico e musicista Al Maranca.
Da tutto questo lavoro nasce “L'illusion de Joseph” in onore a Joseph Plateau, inventore del fenachistoscopio .

Dopo un pò di tentativi ho cominciato a combinare queste animazioni cercando di creare qualcosa di originale ed inedito. Poi per rimanere in tema ho creato uno stop motion con dei paper toys ottocenteschi che aprono e chiudono il video. La musica è del mio amico e musicista Al Maranca.
Da tutto questo lavoro nasce “L'illusion de Joseph” in onore a Joseph Plateau, inventore del fenachistoscopio .

Joseph was the 11th son of Jacob, and his story is found in Genesis 37–50. As a 17-year-old shepherd, Joseph is something of a tattle-tale, bringing a bad report about his brothers to their father (Genesis 37:2). This behavior, combined with Jacob’s overt favoritism towards Joseph, causes his older brothers to resent him to the point of hatred (37:3-4). Because of Jacob’s open love for Joseph, his favoritism was begrudged by his other sons. And when Jacob presented Joseph with a highly decorated coat, he was hated and resented by his brothers all the more (Genesis 37:3). To make matters worse, Joseph begins relating his dreams—prophetic visions showing Joseph one day ruling over his family (Genesis 37:11-15). The animosity towards Joseph peaks when his brothers plot to kill him in the wilderness. Reuben, the eldest, objects to outright murder, so instead, the brothers sell Joseph as a slave and deceive their father into thinking his favorite son had been slain by wild beasts (Genesis 37:18-35).
Joseph is sold to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar and eventually becomes the supervisor of Potiphar’s household. In Genesis 39 we read of how Joseph excelled at his duties and became one of Potiphar’s most trusted servants and was put in charge of his household. Potiphar could see that whatever Joseph did, God looked favorably on him and he prospered in all that he did. However, Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, and when her advances are rebuffed, she falsely accuses him of attempted rape. Joseph, although innocent in the matter, is cast into prison (Genesis 39:7-20). In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations prove to be true, and one of the men is later released from jail and restored to his position as the king’s cupbearer (40:1-23). Two years later, the king himself has some troubling dreams, and the cupbearer remembers Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and relates his dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of bountiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine in Egypt and advises the king to begin storing grain in preparation for the coming dearth (41:1-37). For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king (41:38-49).
When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (Genesis 42:1-3). While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph. Jacob’s descendants stay in Egypt for 400 years, until the time of Moses. When Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt, he takes the remains of Joseph with him, as Joseph had requested (Genesis 50:24-25; cf. Exodus 13:19).
There is much to learn from Joseph’s story. As parents, we have warnings concerning Jacob’s favoritism and the effects that can have on other children as seen in Joseph’s youthful pride and his brothers’ envy and hatred. We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23).
There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13).
Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Man’s most wicked intentions can never thwart the perfect plan of God.

Reuben, the eldest, objects to outright murder, so instead, the brothers sell Joseph as a slave and deceive their father into thinking his favorite son had been slain by wild beasts (Genesis 37:18-35).
Joseph is sold to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar and eventually becomes the supervisor of Potiphar’s household. In Genesis 39 we read of how Joseph excelled at his duties and became one of Potiphar’s most trusted servants and was put in charge of his household. Potiphar could see that whatever Joseph did, God looked favorably on him and he prospered in all that he did. However, Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, and when her advances are rebuffed, she falsely accuses him of attempted rape. Joseph, although innocent in the matter, is cast into prison (Genesis 39:7-20). In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations prove to be true, and one of the men is later released from jail and restored to his position as the king’s cupbearer (40:1-23). Two years later, the king himself has some troubling dreams, and the cupbearer remembers Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and relates his dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of bountiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine in Egypt and advises the king to begin storing grain in preparation for the coming dearth (41:1-37). For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king (41:38-49).
When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (Genesis 42:1-3). While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph. Jacob’s descendants stay in Egypt for 400 years, until the time of Moses. When Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt, he takes the remains of Joseph with him, as Joseph had requested (Genesis 50:24-25; cf. Exodus 13:19).
There is much to learn from Joseph’s story. As parents, we have warnings concerning Jacob’s favoritism and the effects that can have on other children as seen in Joseph’s youthful pride and his brothers’ envy and hatred. We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23).
There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13).
Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Man’s most wicked intentions can never thwart the perfect plan of God.

Bob Boilen | October 28, 2016 - My first experience seeing Joseph was in 2014 as an opening act in New York City. It was just the twins Meegan and Allison Closner and their older sister, Natalie Closner, and it was clear then they had something special. Over these two years, Joseph's sound has grown beyond the Closners' harmonies. Now, you're likely to see them with a band or hear songs from their latest record, which is filled with sounds far beyond voice and acoustic guitar.
It's been a treat to witness Joseph's journey, but I was also fairly thrilled that for their Tiny Desk the sisters stripped it down to their original setup: three voices and one guitar. It's those essentials that will likely remain their strength, and hearing these songs from I'm Alone, No You're Not outside a studio setting felt not necessarily better, but certainly friendlier. Now that this band has 5 million listens (and that's only counting one song on Spotify), my guess is you may have missed this earlier sound. Here's a chance to hear the songs you love the way they could have been.

Virtual reality, 360-degree videos, social networks, video games that look like movies and movies that resemble video games:
I think that most of the entertainment`s world nowadays has become monstrous and it is no longer just eyes` illusion, but often illusion of the mind.
I do not know about you but personally, among all these innovation`s turbines, I find myself still attracted by ancient methods and tools which continue to fascinate me. Some time ago I came across a phenakistoscope (also spelled as phenakistiscope or phenakitiscope or phantasmascope or phantascope), an antique optical instrument that displays animated images (practically current animated gif) invented in 1832 by Joseph Plateau. I then found some scans of these circles on the Internet and I began to digitally animate them. After a few attempts, I started to combine these animations trying to create something original and unpublished. Eventually, in order to stay on, I created a stop motion with paper toys from nineteenth-century that open and close the video. The music was carefully crafted by Al-Maranca.
The result of all this work is called "L'illusion de Joseph" in honour of Joseph Plateau, inventor of phenakistoscope.

Non so voi ma io in tutto questo turbine di innovazione ancora sono attratto da strumenti e metodi antichi che continuano ad affascinarmi. Tempo fa mi sono imbattuto nel fenachistoscopio (anche conosciuto come fenachistiscopio, phenakistiscopio, fantasmascopio (phantasmascope) o fantascopio (phantascope), un antico strumento ottico che consente di visualizzare delle immagini animate (praticamente le nostre odierne gif animate) inventato da Joseph Plateau nel 1832. Su internet ho trovato delle scansioni di questi dischi ottocenteschi ed ho iniziato ad animarli digitalmente. Dopo un pò di tentativi ho cominciato a combinare queste animazioni cercando di creare qualcosa di originale ed inedito. Poi per rimanere in tema ho creato uno stop motion con dei paper toys ottocenteschi che aprono e chiudono il video. La musica è del mio amico e musicista Al Maranca.

As a 17-year-old shepherd, Joseph is something of a tattle-tale, bringing a bad report about his brothers to their father (Genesis 37:2). This behavior, combined with Jacob’s overt favoritism towards Joseph, causes his older brothers to resent him to the point of hatred (37:3-4). As a 17-year-old shepherd, Joseph is something of a tattle-tale, bringing a bad report about his brothers to their father (Genesis 37:2). This behavior, combined with Jacob’s overt favoritism towards Joseph, causes his older brothers to resent him to the point of hatred (37:3-4). Because of Jacob’s open love for Joseph, his favoritism was begrudged by his other sons. And when Jacob presented Joseph with a highly decorated coat, he was hated and resented by his brothers all the more (Genesis 37:3). To make matters worse, Joseph begins relating his dreams—prophetic visions showing Joseph one day ruling over his family (Genesis 37:11-15). The animosity towards Joseph peaks when his brothers plot to kill him in the wilderness. Reuben, the eldest, objects to outright murder, so instead, the brothers sell Joseph as a slave and deceive their father into thinking his favorite son had been slain by wild beasts (Genesis 37:18-35).
Joseph is sold to a high-ranking Egyptian named Potiphar and eventually becomes the supervisor of Potiphar’s household. In Genesis 39 we read of how Joseph excelled at his duties and became one of Potiphar’s most trusted servants and was put in charge of his household. Potiphar could see that whatever Joseph did, God looked favorably on him and he prospered in all that he did. However, Potiphar’s wife attempts to seduce Joseph, and when her advances are rebuffed, she falsely accuses him of attempted rape. Joseph, although innocent in the matter, is cast into prison (Genesis 39:7-20). In jail, Joseph interprets the dreams of two of his fellow prisoners. Both interpretations prove to be true, and one of the men is later released from jail and restored to his position as the king’s cupbearer (40:1-23). Two years later, the king himself has some troubling dreams, and the cupbearer remembers Joseph’s gift of interpretation. The king calls for Joseph and relates his dreams. Joseph predicts seven years of bountiful harvests followed by seven years of severe famine in Egypt and advises the king to begin storing grain in preparation for the coming dearth (41:1-37). For his wisdom, Joseph is made a ruler in Egypt, second only to the king (41:38-49).
When the famine strikes, even Canaan is affected, and Jacob sends ten of his sons to Egypt to buy grain (Genesis 42:1-3). While there, they meet their long-lost brother, whom they do not recognize. Joseph’s brothers bow down to him, fulfilling the earlier prophecy. Joseph then reveals his identity to his brothers and forgives their wrongdoing. Jacob and his family move to Egypt to be with Joseph. Jacob’s descendants stay in Egypt for 400 years, until the time of Moses. When Moses leads the Hebrews out of Egypt, he takes the remains of Joseph with him, as Joseph had requested (Genesis 50:24-25; cf. Exodus 13:19).
There is much to learn from Joseph’s story. As parents, we have warnings concerning Jacob’s favoritism and the effects that can have on other children as seen in Joseph’s youthful pride and his brothers’ envy and hatred. We have a good example of how to handle sexual temptation—run (Genesis 39:12; cf. 2 Timothy 2:22), and we have a clear picture of God’s faithfulness. He does not forsake His children, even in the midst of suffering: “the Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:3, 5, 21, 23).
There may be many distressing circumstances we find ourselves in, and some of them may even be unjust, as were those in Joseph’s life. However, as we learn from the account of Joseph’s life, by remaining faithful and accepting that God is ultimately in charge, we can be confident that God will reward our faithfulness in the fullness of time. Who would have blamed Joseph if he had turned his brothers away when they were in need? Nevertheless, God desires that we exercise mercy above all other sacrifices we may offer Him in our lives (Hosea 6:6; Matthew 9:13).
Perhaps most profoundly, Joseph’s story presents amazing insight into how God sovereignly works to overcome evil and bring about His plan. After all his ordeals, Joseph is able to see God’s hand at work. As he reveals his identity to his brothers, Joseph speaks of their sin this way: “Do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. . . . It was not you who sent me here, but God” (Genesis 45:5, 7-8). Later, Joseph again reassures his brothers, offering forgiveness and saying, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good” (Genesis 50:20). Man’s most wicked intentions can never thwart the perfect plan of God.

Hennessy Sports and Duco Promotions are delighted to announce that the highly anticipated showdown between British and Irish heavyweight star Hughie Fury and the WBO World Heavyweight Champion Joseph Parker will take place on Saturday 23rd September at the Manchester Arena.
Fury, the WBO #1 ranked and mandatory challenger, faces the hard-punching Parker in a thrilling match-up in boxing’s flagship glamour division between the undefeated young stars that has the potential to be one of the Fights of the Year.
Parker, the reigning and unbeaten WBO Champion said, “I’m excited that the next defence of my WBO World Title will be in England because it is now the home of heavyweight boxing and I need to be fighting there regularly. David has done a fantastic job of getting me the deal I want to fight in Manchester. Fighting away from home holds no fears for me. I will arrive having previously fought on the undercard of a Wladimir Klitschko world title fight in Germany and also twice in America. I believe that with so many kiwis and Samoans living in the UK, I may even have more supporters in the crowd on fight night than Hughie Fury.”
Manchester’s Fury said, “I’ve waited so long for this chance and my team have worked very hard to get me this fight and I’d like to thank everyone involved. I’m going to shock the world and prove all my doubters wrong and what better place to do it than in my home city of Manchester. Parker is a good fighter and I’ve no doubt we’ll both bring our A-game on fight night. The fight’s on! I can’t wait to be crowned world champion.”
Hennessy Sports CEO Mick Hennessy, promoter of Fury, said, “We’re absolutely thrilled to secure the fight in Manchester for Hughie and I believe that right now this is the best place in the world for boxing, especially if you’re a heavyweight, which is why Parker is so eager to fight here. In my career as a promoter, this is right up there and very personal to me and we look forward to delivering a fantastic event for the fans. Hughie is an exceptional young talent and I’ve got every confidence that he will become the new WBO World heavyweight Champion.”
Peter Fury, father and trainer of Hughie, said, “Myself and Hughie are very pleased that the fight for the WBO World Title is now signed and even more thrilled the fight’s going to be in Hughie’s home town of Manchester in September. Hughie is a dedicated fighter and will be bringing the belt back home to the Fury family. We are all very excited about the news and training is already under way. Hughie is an outstanding talent in the heavyweight division and at just 22 is a rising star in world boxing and will prove to many on fight night he is one of the best in the world.”
David Higgins from Duco Promotions commented, “Peter and I have been able to bury the hatchet very quickly despite the Furys not coming to New Zealand on May 6. The goodwill between both parties has been such that we were always going to come to a deal which was mutually beneficial. I never once during negotiations felt this fight would end up in purse bid”.
Fury has recovered from the back injury that caused the date of the original fight against Parker on May 6th in Auckland to be postponed and will first feature at the Copper Box Arena on Saturday 8th July before challenging Parker.
He was last in action on April 30th last year when he defeated Fred Kassi to win the WBO Intercontinental title on a seventh round Technical Decision following a clash of heads that opened a bad cut over Fury’s left eye.
The 22-year-old hotshot, cousin of the former Undisputed and current Ring Magazine World Heavyweight Champion Tyson, has a perfect record of 20 wins and 10 knockouts with 8 coming inside the first three rounds.
Aukland’s Parker created history when he became New Zealand’s first ever world heavyweight champion by defeating Andy Ruiz Jr. on points to win the Vacant WBO title in a thrilling night in December last year and become a national hero.
He currently holds an immaculate 23-fight record with 18 knockouts, 12 of those were inside three rounds and has held the WBO Oriental and Africa titles amongst other regional belts.
The 25-year-old defended his title for the first time last month against the tough and awkward Romanian Razvan Conjanu – who replaced the injured Fury – by unanimous decision.
