FC Mecklenburg Schwerin is a German football club based in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

History[edit]

FC Mecklenburg Schwerin was established in 2013 as a merger of FC Eintracht Schwerin and FCM Schwerin. Eintracht was founded in 1945 and has been through a number of name changes over the years, resulting in a colourful history. The football team has played at a number of different levels, including the top East German division, the DDR-Oberliga, during the 1949–50 season. In 1997 Eintracht absorbed 1. FSV Schwerin when the football department of Schweriner SC separated.

They currently play in the fifth tier NOFV-Oberliga Nord after a league championship in the Verbandsliga Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in 2015–16.[1]
