MENARID is a Middle East and North Africa Regional Development for Integrated Sustainable Development. MENARID provides valuable lessons and experiences for promoting Integrated Natural Resource Management (INRM) in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid environments. It also addresses regions suffering severe land degradation and loss of ecosystem services.

Iran ranks as the world’s 7th largest emitter of Carbon dioxide (CO2) and the residential and commercial building sectors represent some 23% of the country’s CO2 emissions. Increasing energy efficiency in buildings, therefore represents an important contribution to reducing emissions and climate change mitigation.

As a party to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Iran is obliged to regularly submit national reports on how the country is implementing the Convention to the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the UNFCCC.

The Project has been developed in line with the goals of National Strategic Plan for Malaria Elimination aiming at elimination of falciparum1 malaria (the fatal type of malaria infections) by 2016 and all cases of malaria including vivax2 by 2025.

In line with SDG-3 “to ensure healthy lives and promoting the well-being for all at all ages”, countless efforts have been conducted by different stakeholders to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Islamic Republic of Iran during the last decade.
