H&M;, Gorman and Calvin Klein Underwear are opening at Canberra Centre

It's finally happening - Swedish fashion retailer H&M; is opening in Canberra.

H&M; confirmed on Monday morning that the first store for the ACT will open at Canberra Centre, "later this year".

While there's no official announcement yet on where the store will sit in the centre, recruitment has commenced on the H&M; website.

Since the first H&M; store opened in Melbourne in April 2014, the Swedish fashion retailer has opened stores across Sydney, Brisbane and Perth, Melbourne, Wollongong, Newcastle, Gold Coast and Toowoomba.

The retailer is continuing its spread into more regional areas, with stores for Townsville and Rockhampton also recently been announced.

And H&M; is not the only fashion newcomer to the shopping centre.

Australian clothing brand Gorman is also opening its first Canberra store at Canberra centre.

The shop will be located next to Oroton on the first floor, and according to its website, is opening in late September.

And Calvin Klein Underwear opened over the weekend at the entrance to the new Monaro Mall beauty precinct.

The huge store has the iconic brand's underwear ranges for both men and women, and features the new Calvin Klein Underwear campaign which features Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw.

The new fashion stores follow the recent opening of a dedicated beauty precinct at Canberra Centre, which brought new retailers Mecca Maxima, Jurlique, Perfect Potion, Inglot and 3ina.
