Police are investigating a series of armed violent home invasions involving at least four masked men robbing homes across the Perth metropolitan area.

Police were called to a home in Garratt Road Bayswater around 9.15pm on Sunday night after it was reported two men had broken into the house and assaulted the owner, knocking him unconscious.

The two men stole a Mazda 3, a replica memorabilia-style firearm, and other property.

Around 11.25pm, four men, one armed with a firearm, broke into a home in Marlee Court Langford, stealing money before fleeing in the stolen Mazda 3. The occupants of the house were at home at the time but were unhurt.

Around 20 minutes later, four men broke into a home in Lewis Road Martin, again armed with a firearm.

The occupant of the home arrived home while the thieves were in the house and was chased by the masked men but managed to flee before having his car damaged with a baseball bat.

Just after midnight a number of men forced their way into a home in Pentecost Loop in Southern River and attempted to steal a Holden Commodore parked in the driveway.

The thieves left empty-handed and fled in the stolen Mazda 3.
