Caboolture crashes cause traffic chaos on the Bruce Highway

A five-car crash has added to the traffic nightmare along the Bruce Highway after a “trifecta” of crashes, within the space of 30 minutes, earlier on Sunday morning at Caboolture.

The first crash was a truck rollover in the northbound lane near the Pumicestone Road turnoff at Caboolture about 10.15am.

The driver was treated for a laceration to his knee.

Just 10 minutes later, there was a nose-to-tail crash in the southbound lane, directly opposite the truck rollover.

10 minutes later emergency services were called to another nose-to-tail crash on Bribie Island Road at Caboolture, east of the Bruce Highway.

About an hour after that, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on the Bruce Highway southbound, just after the Bribie Island Road.

No-one was injured, a Queensland Ambulance spokesman said.

At 5pm, Australian Traffic Network traffic reporter Olympia Kwitowski said there were still delays in the area from Burpengary to Caboolture, with traffic moving slowly.

Earlier, Ms Kwitowski said it was a “trifecta of crashes at Caboolture”.

Traffic has pushed back to Bells Creek and motorists can expect lengthy delays.
