That brings back flashbacks of when we had 5 storms in a row hit us in Florida it was a bad year and the transplants have no clue...

Our church just hired a priest from Florida. We put him in charge of our relief and recovery efforts. He's been there.

For comparison: 1) FEMA flood map 2) Population density map overlaid on flood sat pic. Houston, FEMA never wanted to protect your safety.pic.twitter.com/VdAnRibVpX
-
When was the FEMA map drawn? Just wondering how much Houston construction has occurred since map drawn that would affect flood plains.
-
That's the 100y(dark blue) and 500y(green blue). The FIRM was adopted in 2007 by Houston, unincorporated Harris Co+ 33 other munis
-
FIRMs r intended 2 inform development, not be updated every time a few acres go impervious. Bad munis like Houston build condos in wetlands.
-
Concerning that improper development of wetlands in Houston have contributed to this horrible flooding.
-
Happens in most coastal areas, but Houston/TX are particularly convinced regulations are bad, but storms are just gods will.
