President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump took a hands-on approach at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, where they dished up Red Cross meal boxes to thousands of evacuees who have been rendered homeless by Hurricane Harvey (center). The pair jetted in to Texas shortly before lunchtime and made their way straight to the stadium where this year’s Superbowl was held. Trump, 71, was jovial and warm, kissing babies and chatting with children as he made his way around groups of displaced residents. First Lady Melania Trump, who earlier in the week received criticism for her glamorous outfits, was casual in a denim shirt, jeans and sneakers. She proudly wore a ‘Texas’ baseball hat and took time to speak with some little girls at the shelter. Trump was upbeat and obliging, posing for selfies with many of the people who had lined up for food. They moved on to a church in Pearland where he gave an optimistic speech about the clean-up mission and thanked Governor Greg Abbott for his response to the catastrophe. They will move on to Louisiana, another hurricane-affected state, before travelling back to Washington DC on Saturday night.
