Donald George "Don" Revie, OBE (10 July 1927 – 26 May 1989), was an England international footballer and manager.
A forward, he began his career with Leicester City in August 1944, before winning a £19,000 move to Hull City in November 1949. He was sold on to Manchester City in October 1951 for a fee of £25,000, where he became the main focus of the "Revie Plan" which saw him named as FWA Footballer of the Year in 1954–55 after innovating the role of the first deep-lying centre forward in England. He won the FA Cup in 1956, having finished on the losing side in the 1955 final. He was bought by Sunderland for £22,000 in October 1956, before moving on to Leeds United in November 1958 for a £14,000 fee. In total he scored 108 goals in 501 league and cup appearances in an 18-year professional career, also scoring four goals in six England appearances as well as winning representative honours for The Football League XI and the England B team.
In March 1961, Revie was appointed player-manager of Leeds United, then a Second Division club who had never previously won a major trophy. Under Revie's management, Leeds became a major force in English football, winning the Second Division in 1963–64, the First Division in 1968–69 and 1973–74, the FA Cup in 1972, the League Cup in 1968, the FA Charity Shield in 1969, and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1968 and 1971. Additionally, Leeds were First Division runners-up five times, thrice FA Cup runners-up and runners-up in the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup. In July 1974 he accepted the job as England manager, but had an unsuccessful three years in the role before quitting in highly controversial circumstances to take up the management role with the United Arab Emirates. He later had spells in Middle Eastern club football with Al-Nasr and Al-Ahly.
International Business Machines Corporation (commonly referred to as IBM) is an American multinational technology and consulting corporation, with corporate headquarters in Armonk, New York. IBM manufactures and markets computer hardware, middleware and software, and offers infrastructure, hosting and consulting services in areas ranging from mainframe computers to nanotechnology.
The company originated in 1911 as the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company (CTR) through the consolidation of The Tabulating Machine Company, the International Time Recording Company, the Computing Scale Company and the Bundy Manufacturing Company. CTR was renamed "International Business Machines" in 1924, a name which Thomas J. Watson first used for a CTR Canadian subsidiary. The initialism IBM followed. Securities analysts nicknamed the company Big Blue for its size and common use of the color in products, packaging and its logo.
In 2012, Fortune ranked IBM the second largest U.S. firm in terms of number of employees (435,000 worldwide), the fourth largest in terms of market capitalization, the ninth most profitable, and the nineteenth largest firm in terms of revenue. Globally, the company was ranked the 31st largest in terms of revenue by Forbes for 2011. Other rankings for 2011/2012 include №1 company for leaders (Fortune), №1 green company in the United States (Newsweek), №2 best global brand (Interbrand), №2 most respected company (Barron's), №5 most admired company (Fortune), and №18 most innovative company (Fast Company).
Watson is a question answering computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language, developed in IBM's DeepQA project by a research team led by principal investigator David Ferrucci. Watson was named after IBM's first CEO and industrialist Thomas J. Watson. The computer system was specifically developed to answer questions on the quiz show Jeopardy!. In 2011, Watson competed on Jeopardy! against former winners Brad Rutter and Ken Jennings. Watson received the first place prize of $1 million.
Watson had access to 200 million pages of structured and unstructured content consuming four terabytes of disk storage including the full text of Wikipedia, but was not connected to the Internet during the game. For each clue, Watson's three most probable responses were displayed on the television screen. Watson consistently outperformed its human opponents on the game's signaling device, but had trouble in a few categories, notably those having short clues containing only a few words.

This robotic ball, the Sphero, was programmed specifically for me and is using IBM Watson, which is a technology that understands all forms of data and reasons and learns at scale. With Watson, you can use language, vision, speech and data insight APIs to add cognitive functionality to your application or service. Watson is available on IBM Bluemix, an open source environment that helps you quickly and easily create, deploy, and manage applications on the cloud. In this case, the Sphero was programmed to be a basketball player, and using Watson technology, it can respond to a variety of basketball commands through changes in movement and color. Today we are going to take a "brief" (yeah right...) look at two Lenovo / IBM T60's that I bought off eBay for $10 + shipping. I will walk you around each system, verify that each laptop works, and run a live edition of Ubuntu 16.04LTS on one of the T'60s. The T60's build quality is incredible and despite only being equipped with an Intel T2300 Core Duo and Intel GMA 950 (Intel 945GM) graphics they performed well enough to make comfortable daily driver machines. I plan to turn one of these into a daily school machine for myself and I intend on giving the other Thinkpad to an aspiring computer science major who is in need of a laptop. The Race Across America (RAAM) is a bicycle race like no other. Called “the toughest test of endurance in the world” by Outside magazine, RAAM spans North America, starting at the Pacific Ocean and ending at the Atlantic Ocean. Finishers will spend eight to ten sleep-deprived days and nights on the road under conditions both extreme and unpredictable. But like any endeavor, successful execution begins with a plan, thoughtful preparation and execution that adapts to changing circumstances. IBM has teamed up with ultracyclist Dave Haase to provide the insight and foresight he and his crew will need to prepare for and execute his perfect race. Haase described his grueling race schedule at the IBM Vision 2015 conference: “The whole race is 3,000 miles long. I’m racing pretty much nonstop. So ...

I've just received a new IBM Intellistation POWER 285. I'm going to explore this machine through the next months, and see what I can learn from it. I also compare the size to a Mac tower (Power Mac G5 or Mac Pro), and you can see how huge it really is. The Intellistation Power series of workstations is not well documented on the Internet (compared to most other IT things). I'm hoping to contribute to change that. They are related to the RS/6000 series of IBM servers and workstations.
This short demo provides a brief overview of the value of automated database vulnerability assessments, describes new data sources in v10, and demonstrates how easy it is to build and run a security assessment, review the results and, understand the recommendations.
