Numeral (linguistics)

In linguistics, a numeral is a member of a word class (or sometimes even a part of speech) designating numbers, such as the English word 'two' and the compound 'seventy-seven'.

Identifying numerals

Numerals may be attributive, as in two dogs, or pronominal, as in I saw two (of them).

Many words of different parts of speech indicate number or quantity. Quantifiers do not enumerate, or designate a specific number, but give another, often less specific, indication of amount. Examples are words such as every, most, least, some, etc. There are also number words which enumerate but are not a distinct part of speech, such as 'dozen', which is a noun, 'first', which is an adjective, or 'twice', which is an adverb. Numerals enumerate, but in addition have distinct grammatical behavior: when a numeral modifies a noun, it may replace the article: the/some dogs played in the park → twelve dogs played in the park. (Note that *dozen dogs played in the park is not grammatical, so 'dozen' is not a numeral.)

Hunter Hayes discography

The discography of American country music artist Hunter Hayes consists of two studio albums, five independently released albums, one live extended play, and seven singles. Hayes began his career as a songwriter with Universal Music Publishing Group, moving to Nashville in 2008 and co-writing the song "Play" on Rascal Flatts' 2010 album, Nothing Like This.

After signing to Atlantic Nashville, Hayes released his debut single "Storm Warning" in May 2011. The song preceded his eponymous debut major-label album, Hunter Hayes, which was released October 11, 2011. The album's second single, "Wanted", topped the Hot Country Songs chart and also crossed over to pop and adult contemporary radio. "Somebody's Heartbreak" was the third single from Hunter Hayes, and reached the top of the then-new Country Airplay chart. In June 2013, the album was reissued as Hunter Hayes (Encore), and the collective sales from both editions propelled the album to the No. 1 spot on the Country Albums chart. Two additional singles were issued from Encore: the No. 2-peaking "I Want Crazy" and the re-recorded Jason Mraz duet version of "Everybody's Got Somebody but Me".

Twenty-one (basketball)

Twenty-one, also called 21, American, cutthroat, hustle, roughhouse, scutter, rough, reboundor scramble is a popular variation of street basketball. The game is played with any number of players on a half court, but typically when not enough players are available to at least play three-on-three. Twenty-one is an individual game that does not utilize team play. In some settings, it is considered a brutal game, as fouling is legal and thus some games can become violent and full-contact. However, the game's basic rules can be enjoyed by anyone, as most games are non-violent.

Rules

The rules and game play are often different regionally locally – even by specific court.

Basic rules are as follow:

Typically play begins with one player shooting the ball from a significant distance. This shot must hit the rim, but cannot go through the basket. If either of these violations occur, the ball must be re-shot. Once the ball is legally shot, all players then fight over the rebound. This is meant to mimic the "tip-off" of a standard game. Once the ball is in play, there are technically no rules, but due to peer pressure most players abide by all rules with the exception of out of bounds violations and personal fouls.
