Ride (1998 film)

Ride is a 1998 American comedy film written and directed by Millicent Shelton. The film stars Malik Yoba, Fredro Starr, and Melissa De Sousa. The film is sometimes confused with The Ride, another film released in 1998.

Plot

NYC film school graduate Leta Evans (De Sousa) has just become the assistant to hot music video director Bleau Kelly (Downtown Julie Brown). She almost loses the job before her first day's barely even started when Bleau decides budget cuts must be made for her next project. When Leta offers to do the assignment for a smaller fee, Bleau decides to have her escort a group of rappers, singers, and showbiz wanna-be's to Miami for a video shoot. The gang, which is kept in line by Poppa (Yoba), gets acquainted on a decaying bus as they travel down the East Coast, encountering barroom fights and other problems en route to the video gig.

Ride (Ciara song)

"Ride" is a song performed by American recording artist Ciara. The song features American rapper Ludacris. It was co-written by Ciara, Ludacris, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream, and produced by the latter two. The song serves as the lead single from her fourth studio album, Basic Instinct. The song was first released for digital download on April 23, 2010. "Ride" is a down-tempo R&B song, featuring a heavy bass line and seductive tone.

The song received generally positive reviews from critics, complimenting the song's toned-down production. It reached three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in the United States, becoming Ciara's twelfth top ten hit on the chart. The accompanying music video features sexually charged, provocative choreography, and therefore was not aired on BET, and banned from UK music channels. The official remix features André 3000 and Bei Maejor in addition to Ludacris.

Background

Jive Records spoke exclusively to Rap Up magazine on March 29, 2010 to confirm that Ciara would be releasing a new song called "Ride" featuring Ludacris. It is the fourth time that the two artists have collaborated: the first being 2005's "Oh", second being 2009's "High Price" and the third being the 2010 remix to Ludacris' single "How Low".

Ignite the Night is the major-label debut album from Chase Rice. It was released on August 19, 2014 via Dack Janiels and Columbia Nashville.

Commercial performance

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Country Albums Chart and at number three on the Billboard 200, selling 44,000 copies. As of November 2015, the album has sold 305,300 copies in the U.S.

In Canada, the album debuted at number seven on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling 2,600 copies in its first week.

In poker, players construct hands of playing cards according to predetermined rules, which vary according to which variant of poker is being played. These hands are compared using a hand ranking system that is standard across all variants of poker. The player with the highest-ranking hand wins that particular deal in most poker games. In some variants, the lowest-ranking hand can win or tie.

These hand rankings are also used in some other card games and in poker dice. The ranking of a particular hand is increased by including multiple cards of the same card rank, by all five cards being from the same suit, or by the five cards forming a consecutive series. The relative ranking of the various hand categories is based on the probability of being randomly dealt such a hand from a well-shuffled deck.

Straight (2007 film)

Straight is a 2007 German film by director Nicolas Flessa.

Plot

The young German-Polish Jana does everything possible to give the impression of a straight acting woman. Her good-looking, bourgeois friend David and her pretence to work for a newspaper are attempts to hide her inner conflicts and her true occupation of a social worker in the low-prestigious Berlin district of Neukoelln.

But there is the young German Turk Nazim, who also tries hard to keep up the appearance of straightness. Night after night he goes out with his homies, dances with girls like Jana and deals with drugs on Hermann Square. Neither his best buddy Akin nor his playmates are suspicious.

Since his nocturnal encounter with a young German guy on Sonnenallee it has got more difficult for him to keep up the façade of normal life. This is the beginning of a love triangle that is dangerous for the self-understanding of all parties: because Nazim's new lover is no one else but Janas boy friend David...

Straight engine

The straight or inline engine is an internal-combustion engine with all cylinders aligned in one row and having no offset. Usually found in four, six and eight cylinder configurations, they have been used in automobiles, locomotives and aircraft, although the term in-line has a broader meaning when applied to aircraft engines, see Inline engine (aviation).

A straight engine is considerably easier to build than an otherwise equivalent horizontally opposed or V engine, because both the cylinder bank and crankshaft can be milled from a single metal casting, and it requires fewer cylinder heads and camshafts. In-line engines are also smaller in overall physical dimensions than designs such as the radial, and can be mounted in any direction. Straight configurations are simpler than their V-shaped counterparts. They have a support bearing between each piston as compared to "flat" and "V" engines, which have support bearings between every two pistons. Although six-cylinder engines are inherently balanced, the four-cylinder models are inherently off balance and rough, unlike 90-degree V fours and horizontally opposed 'boxer' four cylinders.

Motel (Motel album)

Motel is the debut eponymous album by the Mexican soul-rock band Motel. The album was released on March 21, 2006, in Mexico. Four months later, the album was released in countries like Guatemala, Venezuela, Chile, and the United States. Their first single is called Dime ven (English: Tell Me to Come. The song was very popular in Latin American and Mexican charts. They also released their last singles Olvídame and Lejos estamos mejor.
