Curuenavuli did not appear in Mount Druitt Local Court earlier this month, with her lawyer informing the court he hadn't received instructions due to his client's busy schedule.
Speaking at Melbourne's Regent Theatre on Thursday, the singer confirmed, however, that she will make an appearance at the next court hearing, which is scheduled for Monday, September 4.

"We all lean on each other and I guess for me, turning up to work and being able to just be surrounded with people that encourage me and all of that stuff is great," she said. "I keep doing what I do and I enjoy it."

Curuenavuli is playing the role of Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard, the character made famous by Whitney Houston in the film of the same name. The former Idol contestant's debut involves playing eight shows a week.

Producer John Frost told Fairfax Media he hasn't thought of a backup plan should Curuenavuli be found guilty.
"We know this case is coming up in a week or so, and we hope the best for her," he said. "She has our support as her employer. Beyond that, we haven't thought 'what if'."
