Roton

In theoretical physics, a roton is an elementary excitation, or quasiparticle, in superfluid helium-4. The dispersion relation of elementary excitations in this superfluid shows a linear increase from the origin, but exhibits first a maximum and then a minimum in energy as the momentum increases. Excitations with momenta in the linear region are called phonons; those with momenta close to the minimum are called rotons. Excitations with momenta near the maximum are sometimes called maxons.

The term "roton" is also used for the quantised eigenmode of a freely rotating molecule.

Models

Originally, the roton spectrum was phenomenologically introduced by Lev Landau. Currently there exist different models which try to explain the roton spectrum, with a different degree of success and fundamentality. The requirement for any model of such kind is that it must explain not only the shape of the spectrum itself but also other related observables, such as the speed of sound and structure factor of superfluid helium-4. Microwave and Bragg spectroscopy has been conducted on helium to study roton spectrum.

Career

Fly Project made its debut in music already in 2005 with the song "Raisa". The song became popular, reaching charts in Europe, including the French Singles Chart and the Romanian Top 100. Then they released their debut studio album, called Fly Project. One year later, a Romanian language song, called "K-Tinne" reached the position #52 in Romanian Top 100's 2007 year-end chart, while reaching the first position in their native country's weekly chart.

After a break, the band released "Brasil", which topped charts from Romania, Russia, Greece, Spain, Moldova, Turkey, the Netherlands, Serbia Hungary and other. The single was nominated for "Best dance song" on the Romanian Music Awards. Their song "Mandala" from 2011, reached for the first time a top-ten peak position in Russia and the later released song "Goodbye" was the most playied song in their native country in that year. It rose up to popularity in more countries and reached the first position in the Romanian Singles Chart and the fourth position in the Romanian End-Year Chart. "Musica" was released in 2013 and became the band's second most successful single. It was a top-ten hit in Italy and Russia and was certified gold by the FIMI.

My Love on You

"My Love on You", also referred to as "Love On You", is a song recorded by Romanian recording artist Anda Adam for her studio album, Amo (2013). It was released for digital download on 26 November 2009, while a digital remix EP containing remixes of the songs from DJs from different countries was also made available for purchase. The track reached commercial success, eventually peaking at number one in Turkey and at number seven on the native Romanian Top 100. According to the Romanian Year-End Chart from 2010, "My Love on You" was broacast overall at least 6.000 times in Romania that year.

Critical reception

The critical reception for the song was mostly positive, with music critics praising Adam's voice performance and the track's instrumentation.

The official music video for "My Love on You" was shot on January 15, 2010 at the Atlantis Studios in Bucharest, Romania by Iulian Moga.

Synopsis

The clip opens with Adam lying in a dark room and a light reflecting on her. Following this, she is shortly seen in a transparent box and dancing with her female and male backup dancers in a green room. Cut scenes for that scene portray her sitting on a motocycle. Subsequently, Adam is seen again inside the steamy box from the beginning, where she is sweating and trying to escape. Upon her escape, the music video ends with the opening scene.

Masters of the Universe

Masters of the Universe (commonly abbreviated MOTU and sometimes referred to as Jimmy or He-Man, after the lead hero) is a media franchise created by Mattel. The main premise revolves around the conflict between the heroic He-Man, aka Jimmy, and the evil Skeletor on the planet Eternia, with a vast line-up of supporting characters in a hybrid setting of medieval sword and sorcery and sci-fi technology. Later spin-offs also featured He-Man's sister She-Ra and her struggle against the Evil Horde, along with other planets/settings; however the main premise usually remained the same. Since its initial launch, the franchise has spawned a variety of products, including six lines of action figures, four animated television series, several comic series, and a feature film.

Origin of the franchise

In 1976, Mattel's CEO Ray Wagner declined a request to produce a toyline of action figures based on the characters from the George Lucas film Star Wars. Upon the commercial success of the film trilogy during the next few years and all related merchandise, Mattel attempted to launch several unsuccessful toylines, none of which captured the public's imagination or made a significant dent in the toy market.

History

1950s and 1960s

WMG's roots date back to the founding of Warner Bros. Records in 1958 as a division of Warner Bros. Pictures. The film company had no record label division at the time and one of its contracted actors, Tab Hunter, scored a hit song for Dot Records, which was a division of rival Paramount Pictures. In order to prevent any repetition of its actors recording for rival companies, and to also capitalize on the music business, Warner Bros. Records was created. In 1963, Warner purchased Reprise Records, which had been founded by Frank Sinatra three years earlier so that he could have more creative control over his recordings. With the Reprise acquisition, Warner gained the services of Mo Ostin, who would be mainly responsible for the success of Warner/Reprise.
