  • Amber Mark - Heatwave

Following her debut EP last May, rising NYC singer and producer Amber Mark (Stack №141) drops a late contender for song of the summer, built on polyrhythmic bossa nova grooves. "An inviting white-sand escape," says The Autumn Roses.
  • Flesh World - Destination Moon

The upcoming album from San Francisco dream-punks Flesh World includes this cover of a 1982 trip to the moon by British duo Solid Space, reimagined "with stop-offs in the land of King Tubby, U-Roy and late-Blondie," says the band.
  • D33J - Wisp (feat. Baths)

LA's D33J (known for production work with Lil Yachty) will soon releases his debut, a collection of experimental beat music featuring Wedidit crewmate Shlohmo, and Anticon labelmates Angel Deradoorian and Baths—who croons here on "Wisp."
  • Syd - Bad Dream/No Looking Back

The year of Syd (Stack №135) continues. “Play this while you watch the eclipse,” tweeted The Internet frontwoman when sharing this smooth and woozy two-part song, said to be the lead to a new project out next month.
  • One of the most blogged tracks this week belongs to UK artist James Holden, whose first album in four years was recorded as a live group performance. The result is soaring, psychedelic, "trance-infused, kraut folk music," per The Quietus.

    GOOD MIX

    GOOD READ

The Guardian on the Reformation: classical music's punk moment.

"The art of music, which used to be the analogue of the proportions of heaven and the harmony of the entire cosmos, was increasingly brought down to earth, with the focus more on the human spirit and body."

    Thanks for listening!
