Four unions called a general strike for today against French President Macron’s new employment law, this is often referred to as Macron 2 or Macron XXL, because he was behind the last revision referred to as the ‘Loi El-Khomri’ and this new law is even worse.

On September 5, at 10:00 AM, around 150 workers from different cities and companies organised with anarcho-syndicalist Autonomous Worker's Union came together in solidarity and marched in front of the Bulgarian Parliament. Their demands were for immediate payment of their salaries and for criminalization of wage theft.

Several people received minor injuries after a far-right march attacked a student counter-protest in Charlottesville last night. The march was taking place ahead of today's “#UniteTheRight” rally, which is expected to be the largest neo-Nazi protest in the USA since 2002.

March 25 was planned by some liberal opposition leaders as the day of the biggest protest against Lukashenko’s policies this year, the biggest in the wave of recent anti-government demonstrations that started in February this year. It ended with the biggest police mobilization in years bringing thousands of riot cops to Minsk and detaining hundreds of people before and during the demonstration. In February and March 2004, the Roma unemployed in Slovakia responded to cuts in welfare provisions with demonstrations and looting. The state's response involved the greatest mobilization of police forces since the fall of Stalinism. Although the unrest was crushed, it managed to secure better conditions for all unemployed in Slovakia.
