Sister of fatal fire victim Reece Clarke posts moving tribute to Facebook
The sister of a Gold Coast man who was burnt to death has posted a tribute to her brother on Facebook.
Reece Clarke, 26, died after he was allegedly set alight in the bedroom of a Nerang home by his younger brother early Saturday morning.
Twenty-two-year-old Ethan Clarke was charged with murder later that day.
On Sunday, Katina Clarke said he would be missed.
“Be in peace Reece. You will be epically missed,” she wrote.
“I feel I didn't say this enough but I love you, and I hope everyone takes a moment to appreciate their loved ones and to tell them so.
She encouraged friends and family to continue to post tributes and share memories on her brother’s Facebook page.
“Our thoughts are with Reece and all who have been affected by his passing,” she said.
Ms Clarke’s brother Reece died in hospital on Saturday. Police allege 22-year-old Ethan Clarke poured accelerant over his brother, 26, before igniting the blaze and severely burning his alleged victim.
He was arrested in Brisbane and questioned for several hours before being charged with murder.
"It's a horrific event. The burns were as bad as you could get," Nerang police Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Procter said.
Police were unable to confirm reports the men's parents were injured when trying to extinguish the fire that killed their eldest son at a Nerang home.
The alleged murderer is due to front Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
