Invincible is a 2006 American sports drama film directed by Ericson Core. It is based on the true story of Vince Papale (Mark Wahlberg), who played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1976 to 1978 with the help of his coach, Dick Vermeil (Greg Kinnear). The film was released in the United States on August 25, 2006.
During the 1970s, chaos reigns in the city of Philadelphia as southern portions of the city protest the shutdown of several job sites while their NFL team, the Philadelphia Eagles, endures a string of losing seasons, plus irate fans.
During the spring of 1976, 30-year-old Vince Papale goes to a sandlot one night and joins his friends playing a pick-up practice football game against another group of young men. After the game ends, Papale goes home and finds out that his wife Sharon is upset with his alleged failure to provide proper support.
The next morning, Papale goes to the high school where he works as a substitute teacher. In a short, unexpected meeting with the principal, he is told of his layoff. Later in the day, there is a report that the Eagles have hired a new head coach named Dick Vermeil as shown in a formal televised conference. That night, Papale goes to the bar where he works as a part-time bartender. The bar contains die-hard Eagles fans, who are watching TV about the hiring of Vermeil. The news story concludes with the announcement by Vermeil that he is staging open public tryouts for the Eagles. The men in the bar encourage Papale to go to the tryout. When Papale returns home, he finds out that his wife has left him and a note from her saying he will never be anything in the world. Papale becomes disgusted, smashing the few remaining belongings that Sharon left behind.

Tensions between Chinese and Japanese, plus U.S. racism, mark the tale. Hero marries Jade, leaves her in China when he goes to America as an indentured servant, rebels against cruel labor conditions, and is joined by her in New York City where she has twins. Jump ahead 16 years: their son Sword comes to New York looking for his father. There, Sword hears many stories of his father, which we see in flashbacks, and the stage is set for the battle with Invincible.

I was born amongst the mountains and cool, clear rivers of the Pacific Northwest, a place that is different from New Orleans, in seemingly every single way. I first moved to New Orleans nearly 15 years ago to play for the Saints. At the time, I was fighting to find a home in the NFL. A decade and a half later, I can proudly say I am a New Orleanian. For me and the city, it wasn‘t necessarily love at first sight. I was struggling to make an NFL squad whose facility is in the suburbs. After practice, I was stored in a stale apartment complex, near the airport. My second season, I was cut during training camp. After being home, in Spokane, WA for a few weeks, I was only shipped back to New Orleans, because one of the Saints practice squad guys shot himself in the knee. After that second yea...

2006, Cortometraje // ShortFilm Damn all intentions. Damn the expectations, illusions, calculations. Memories. Endings. Anguish, with its double sided blades, anaesthetises everything at the same time as stripping the flesh from the shredded muscles torpidly glued to the bones that have been punished by humidity. A second ago the whispering of the leaves being caressed in the trees could be heard. All these are transitions of the possible to the real. Big invincible stones worn away by the friction of the stillness which makes everything move, organise, articulate, sink. Destroyed. Constant maladjustments between what is and what should be. Dreams. Emptiness. Bad smells. Putrefaction. Reversed souls, hung out in the afternoon breeze. Wakes. Resurrections. Hope. Toxic clouds that poison the...
Don't believe you are invincible
Don't believe you are the best of all times
Don't forget where you're from
When your fortune is gone
You wake up, lived a dream
You're not invincible
No way success is on place one, not two
Nothing else counts it seems to be true
No clue what you do, better help yourself
It's all about money, no one cares about you
Here one day, gone one night
You see people twice in your life and they bite not quite
Alright, but there might be a fight
Never forget what's wrong, what's right
Sometimes you forget
Fame is just a gift, take it day by day
Sometimes you forget
You're living in a world, heading far away
Don't fly to high, the landing is tough enough
To rough for you, come back to reality
Madness, to believe you're the hero
Grow up, show up, time for you to wake up
The road is going down the other side of the hill
Keep your feet on the ground - don't kill but
Chill - with all due modesty
Nobody's perfect, don't you agree
One day you're up, one day you're down
Seems like a kingdom but there is no crown
Today you are in, tomorrow you're out
