Omung Kumar

Omung Kumar is an Indian film director, and production designer, known for his works in Hindi cinema. He made his directorial debut with the 2014 biographical sports drama Mary Kom starring Priyanka Chopra. The film was a critical and commercial success. He and the film received several awards and nominations, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Career

Kumar started his career as a production designer. He worked on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films such as Black (2005) and Saawariya (2007). He made his directorial debut with the 2014 biographical sports drama Mary Kom based on the eponymous boxer. The film starring Priyanka Chopra as Kom was a critical and commercial success.Mary Kom grossed ₹940 million (US$14 million) at the box-office against a budget of ₹150 million (US$2.2 million). He and the film received several awards and nominations, including the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.

Kumar

Kumar ( pronunciation ; Sanskrit: कुमार) is a Hindu title, a given name, middle name, or a family name found in India, though not specific to any caste or community. It is a generic title which variously means son, boy, prince, unmarried or chaste. It is the 9th most common family name in the world, 3rd most common in India and 2nd most common in Fiji. It is more common in Northern India and the most common family name in Haryana, Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

History

The origin of Kumar can be traced back to early development of Hinduism and its origin in India. The first usage of Kumar was for the Four Kumāras, the four sons of Brahma from the Puranic texts of Hinduism named Sanaka, Sanatana, Sanandana, and Sanat.

In Skanda Purana, the largest Mahapurana, a genre of eighteen Hindu religious texts, the text is devoted mainly to the leelas of Kartikeya, son of Shiva and Parvati. "Kumar" is used to refer Kartikeya.

Bigg Boss

Bigg Boss is a television reality show broadcast on Colors channel in India. It follows the Big Brother format, which was first developed by Endemol in the Netherlands. Within a span of 10 years of telecast, Bigg Boss has rolled out 9 Seasons and one spin-off version thus establishing itself as one of the most popular Reality TV Series in India.

Concept

Bigg Boss is a reality show based on the original Dutch Big Brother format developed by John de Mol. A number of contestants (known as "housemates") live in a purpose-built house and are isolated from the rest of the world. Each week, housemates nominate two of their peers for eviction, and the housemates who receives the most nominations would face a public vote. Of these, one would eventually leave, having been "evicted" from the House. However, there were exceptions to this process as dictated by Bigg Boss. In the final week, there were three housemates remaining, and the public voted for who they wanted to win. The housemates in the Indian version are primarily celebrities with the exception of one who is a non-celebrity selected via auditions. Housemates are overseen by a mysterious person known as 'Bigg Boss', whose only presence in the house is through his voice.

Sanjay Dutt

Sanjay Balraj Dutt (born 29 July 1959) is an Indian film actor and producer known for his works in Bollywood. Dutt, son of veteran Hindi film actors Sunil Dutt and Nargis Dutt, made his acting debut in 1981. Since then he has acted in more than hundred Hindi films. Although Dutt has enjoyed great success in movie genres ranging from romance to comedy, it has been the roles of gangsters, thugs and police officers in films that belong to the action genre that have won Dutt much adulation, with fans and Indian film critics alike referring to him as the "Deadly Dutt," for his larger-than-life portrayals of such characters. In a film career spanning more than thirty five years, Dutt has garnered two Filmfare Awards, two IIFA Awards, two Bollywood Movie Awards, three Screen Awards, three Stardust Awards, a Global Indian Film Award and, a Bengal Film Journalists' Association Award.

Dutt was arrested under the Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act in April 1993, due to illegal possession of a 9mm pistol and a Type 56 assault rifle. After spending 18 months in jail, he was granted bail in April 1995. In July 2007 he was sentenced to six years rigorous imprisonment, including his previous term of 18 months. The Supreme Court of India, in a judgement on 21 March 2013, convicted Dutt of illegal possession of arms relating to the 1993 Mumbai blasts case and sentenced him to five years imprisonment which is likely to get over on 25 February 2016.

Aditi Rao Hydari

Aditi Rao Hydari is an Indian film actress. A classical bharatanatyam dancer, she made her acting debut in the Malayalam film Prajapathi (2006) and rose to fame after her performance in Sudhir Mishra's 2011 film Yeh Saali Zindagi.

Early life

Aditi Rao Hydari was born on 28 October 1978 in Hyderabad, into two royal lineages, that of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari and J. Rameshwar Rao of erstwhile Raja of Wanaparthy family. She is the great granddaughter of Akbar Hydari and the grand niece of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, former Governor of Assam. Her maternal grandparents are Raja J Rameshwar Rao, who headed the administration of Wanaparthi state during its day, and Shanta Rameshwar Rao, a much respected educationalist in the city of Hyderabad and is the Chairperson of publishing house Orient Blackswan. Her mother has Mangalorean Konkani roots. Aditi started learning Bharatanatyam at age six and became a disciple of acclaimed dancer Leela Samson. She did her schooling at Rishi Valley School, near Bangalore and graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi.
