US sharemarkets fell on Monday with technology stocks again leading the declines due to profit-taking. Shares in Apple fell by 2.4%. And shares of General Electric rose by 3.6% after the company said Jeff Immelt would retire as chief executive and would be replaced by John Flannery. The Dow Jones ended lower by almost 36 points or 0.2% after being down 85 points at one stage. The S&P 500 index was down by 0.1% while the Nasdaq lost 32 points or 0.5%.
