The Western Hotel and Casino was a hotel and casino in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. The 8,925 sq ft (829.2 m2) casino is owned by the Barrick Gaming and operated by Navegante and The Tamares Group.
The Western was the lowest rung of Jackie Gaughan's low-roller casino empire that included the Las Vegas Club, The Plaza, the Gold Spike and El Cortez.
The Western opened in 1970 as the Western Hotel & Bingo Parlor and was owned by Jackie Gaughan and Mel Exber. At its opening, The Western was the world's largest bingo parlor with 1,020 seats.
Jackie Gaughan sold the hotel to Barrick Gaming in March 2004. The plans called for redeveloping the Western Hotel as a Latino destination resort. At the time, the AP said about the property, "On a stretch of despair that tourists in Las Vegas seldom see, the Western Hotel-Casino stands out as a beacon for the broke and nearly broken".
In 2005, The Tamares Group acquired total control of the hotel and casino through a lease from Barrick. In 2010 the hotel portion completely closed and redevelopment still remains uncertain to this day.

The Western States Endurance Run, known commonly as the Western States 100, is a 100-mile (161 km) ultramarathon that takes place on trails in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains annually on the last full weekend of June. The race starts at the base of the Squaw Valley ski resort and finishes at the Placer High School track in Auburn, California. The terrain is quite rugged, frequently with snow on the ground at the highest passes, and hot temperatures in the low valleys near the end of the course. Runners ascend a cumulative total of 18,090 feet (5500 m) and descend a total of 22,970 feet (7000 m) on mountain trails before reaching the finish. Because of the length of the race, the race begins at 5 a.m. and continues through the day and into the night. Runners finishing before the 30-hour overall time limit for the race receive a commemorative bronze belt buckle, while runners finishing in under 24 hours receive a silver belt buckle.
The Western States 100 is sponsored by Montrail Corporation, a California athletic footwear company, and is one of the four 100-mile races that comprise the Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, which also includes the Vermont 100 Mile Endurance Run, the Wasatch Front 100 Mile Endurance Run in Utah, and the Leadville Trail 100 in Colorado.
Plato describes "The Form of the Good", or more literally "the idea of the good" (ἡ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ ἰδέα), in his dialogue the Republic (508e2–3), speaking through the character of Socrates. Plato introduces several forms in his works, but identifies the Form of the Good as the superlative. This form is the one that allows a philosopher-in-training to advance to a philosopher-king. It cannot be clearly seen or explained, but once it is recognized, it is the form that allows one to realize all the other forms.
The first references we see in The Republic to the Form of the Good can be found within the conversation between Glaucon and Socrates (454 c–d). When trying to answer such difficult questions pertaining to the definition of justice, Plato identifies that we should not “introduce every form of difference and sameness in nature” instead we must focus “on the one form of sameness and difference that was relevant to the particular ways of life themselves” which is the Form of the Good. This Form is the basis for understanding all other Forms, it is what allows us to understand everything else. Through the conversation between Socrates and Glaucon (508 a–c) Plato analogizes the Form of the Good with the sun as it is what allows us to see things. Here, Plato describes how the sun allows for sight. But he makes a very important distinction, “sun is not sight” but it is “the cause of sight itself.” As the sun is in the visible realm, the Form of Good is in the intelligible realm. It is “what gives truth to the things known and the power to know to the knower”. It is not only the “cause of knowledge and truth, it is also an object of knowledge”.

You'll never know the hate that I've known
Though you'll pretend that you hear
You're privileged You could never understand
So I will hurt you and you'll see
Desperate indignant with life's how I feel
Struggling to cope with it
Can't let them break my beliefs
Try hard (but) must realize
Life is just passing me by
Nothing comes easy in this world
Uphill battles ahead
Must correct the gross misuse
Of justice and liberty
We must stand up before it's too late
While they bitch and moan and say
That it offends them or someone else
Then we'll become a silent tolerate state
The want to better our way of life
To accept and not to question it
They say that's the way it should be
I think therefore I disagree
Anything I say is wrong
What they decide is what it must be
The sheep are quick to believe
My hate no one can take that from me
Anger the pain the strain
Brewing to explode
Anger the pain the strain
I look towards the future and see
That there's nothing set aside there for me
But a lonely death
With no one to mourn for my passing
Because I'll be another rebel dead
That made no difference in this nation
That doesn't like to hear the truth
Which is
Anger the pain the strain
I'll leave a fuckin scare
Anger the pain the strain
In this elitist life
Anger the pain the strain
In this elitist life
Anger the pain the strain
Cause my hate will overcome
Anything that ever stands in my way
Blinded why can't you see what I mean
The writing is on the wall
Open your eyes to the truth
Open your eyes to my truth
