The process toward accreditation begins by creating an account on the ACC Accreditation Services Marketplace web site.
It's the secure, safe way to identify the accreditation service you're interested in purchasing and allows you to select the exact accreditation designation type that you'd like your facility to earn. You'll also be able to record the key contacts associated with your program. As your project progresses, you'll also have access to important business documents (your business agreement, invoices, etc.) through the ACC Accreditation Services Marketplace. Here's a quick glimpse of what happens along the "Pathway to Accreditation" process:
Why Accreditation? Because it makes everyone come together and document what we do. It forces us to talk about our care processes; it asks us to look at the patients' perspective; it reaches up to the cath lab, and out to EMS. So, really everything gets looked at by an independent, but interested observer. When something like that happens it makes everyone work together. And I think that's what accreditation is about. It's about coming in and looking at all the pieces and saying, "Do they actually all fit together as a system?"
