Profits results will drive the ASX today.

The ASX climbs as investors double down on miners after South32 is the latest to impress the market with its earnings while Flight Centre soars and Woolies goes on sale.

An upbeat start to the ASX quickly turned sour under the weight of some very poorly received profits results and more unsettling remarks from US president Trump.
