Woman

A woman is a female human. The term woman is usually reserved for an adult, with the term girl being the usual term for a female child or adolescent. The term woman is also sometimes used to identify a female human, regardless of age, as in phrases such as "women's rights". "Woman" may also refer to a person's gender identity. Women with typical genetic development are usually capable of giving birth from puberty until menopause. In the context of gender identity, transgender people who are biologically determined to be male and identify as women cannot give birth. Some intersex people who identify as women cannot give birth due to either sterility or inheriting one or more Y chromosomes. In extremely rare cases, people who have Swyer syndrome can give birth with medical assistance. Throughout history women have assumed or been assigned various social roles.

Etymology

The spelling of woman in English has progressed over the past millennium from wīfmann to wīmmann to wumman, and finally, the modern spelling woman. In Old English, wīfmann meant "female human", whereas wēr meant "male human". Mann or monn had a gender-neutral meaning of "human", corresponding to Modern English "person" or "someone"; however, subsequent to the Norman Conquest, man began to be used more in reference to "male human", and by the late 13th century had begun to eclipse usage of the older term wēr. The medial labial consonants f and m in wīfmann coalesced into the modern form "woman", while the initial element, which meant "female", underwent semantic narrowing to the sense of a married woman ("wife"). It is a popular misconception that the term "woman" is etymologically connected with "womb", which is from a separate Old English word, wambe meaning "stomach" (of male or female; modern German retains the colloquial term "Wampe" from Middle High German for "potbelly"). Nevertheless, such a false derivation of "woman" has appeared in print.

World history is commonly understood as spanning the major geopolitical developments of about five millennia, from the first civilizations to the present.

World population is the sum of all human populations at any time; similarly, world economy is the sum of the economies of all societies (all countries), especially in the context of globalization. Terms like world championship, gross world product, world flags etc. also imply the sum or combination of all current-day sovereign states.

Evolution Is Making Women Hotter From Ancient Egyptian ruler Cleopatra to reality TV personality Kim Kardashian, women just seem to be growing more and more beautiful with time – and scientists predict an even greater surge in numbers of women based on evolution. Research reveals that attractive women are 16% more likely to have more children as compared to their less attractive counterparts. A 2006 study found that good-looking parents were more likely to have daughters, and it is argued that this is an evolutionary tactic - programmed into our DNA – that is meant to help each sex survive. Women inheriting physical attractiveness over generations means that on average, women will be more attractive than men. 2. Women Are Scientifically Better At Multitasking In case you’ve been wondering about women’s natural capacity to handle multiple tasks at a go, science have got you covered. Scientists ran tests on the brains of 949 men and women to map the interconnections between different parts of the brain. The results showed that women have a much stronger connection between the left and right sides of their brains, while men have stronger connections between the front and the back of the brain. What does that say about women and multitasking? These different interconnections make women better at multitasking and men better at single, more complex tasks. 3. Women Have A Better Sense Of Smell Scientists have been trying to solve the puzzle of women overshadowing their male counterparts in smell-related testing. Research conducted in Brazil examining brains from seven men and 11 women who are recently deceased revealed that on average, women have 43 percent more cells than men in their olfactory bulbs in their brain. Olfactory bulbs are responsible for control of the sense of smell. Researchers also point to the fact that the increased sense of smell in women is naturally linked to experiences and emotions making this smell superiority cognitive rather than perceptual. During pregnancy, women are said to experience an increased sense of smell owing to their pregnancy hormones. 4. Women Can Have Multiple “Os” Most men are biologically incapable of continuous climaxing without an adequate rest period. According to scientific discovery, a chemical compound called oxytocin is released into the body which causes a five to thirty-minute recovery period in most young healthy males. Not so with women who can go on to experience consecutive climaxes without requiring a recovery period. Women’s body do not produce the oxytocin chemical and so their bodies can continue to perform at an optimum level and result in multiple “Os”. 5. Women Have A Better Understanding of Emotions According to a 2009 study commissioned by the University of Montreal, Olivier Collignon found that amongst 23 men and 23 women asked to identify emotions of actors using sometimes contradictory stimuli (i.e. a voice that showed fear but a facial expression marking disgust), women were quicker in their responses and better able to distinguish the emotions more accurately. The study also determined that the female participants responded more quickly when the actor was female. Therefore, women possess a higher aptitude for understanding expressions and emotions than men. When it comes to the battle of the sexes, this balance shifts constantly. Women, for example, can opt to have a child or not, while men have no real say in the matter. The fact is, men and women have different strengths and weaknesses when it comes to different situations. With that in mind, we dug deep to bring you the 5 Things Men Can Do That Women Can’t. Let’s begin! 1. Roll Out of Bed and Look Great Okay, so maybe guys don’t look incredible when they first wake up, but the fact remains that men have an infinitely easier time in the mornings than women do. Ask around and you’ll find that men generally spend much less time getting ready compared to women. Men’s hair is easier to maintain, even with a full beard, and men don’t need to ‘put their face on’. Women spend most of their morning routine staring into a mirror in an effort to make themselves look more presentable. Men, on the other hand, are morning sprinters. A standard routine involves waking up, showering, getting dressed, brushing your teeth, and heading off to work. Add makeup, eyelashes, eyebrows, contouring, blush, lipstick, and hair maintenance to that and the routine starts to look like more of a marathon than a 100 metre dash. 2. Produce both X and Y Gametes When it comes to making babies, women really get the short end of the stick. Not only do they have to carry the kid for nine months, but they also do not produce Y gametes, only X. This is important because all humans default to X, or female, with the Y chromosome kicking off male development. What does this mean? Without a Y chromosome to signal male development, there would be no male babies. Without men around to add some Y chromosomes from time to time, even if artificial insemination techniques managed to work their way around this, we’d be living in a world filled with nothing but women and a lot more complaining. 3. Run Topless This item should aso include a ‘within reason’ disclaimer because some men shouldn’t run without a shirt, either. Women just aren’t set up for running without a shirt to keep everything in place. I’m referring, of course, to bouncing boobs. While women can agree that breasts do have their benefits (boob pockets, anyone?), most of the time they just seem to get in the way. Now, one could argue that women with small breasts can run topless just as easily as any many man and they would probably be correct. That being the case, it seems unlikely that many women would actually opt to go that route, especially with our current social norms and the threat of cat-calling looming overhead. 4. Bathroom Freedom Men can also pee wherever they want. Furthermore, they can pee without taking off their pants, which is a bonus. Remaining standing and fully-clothed while relieving themselves also gives men the enjoyment of being able to write custom messages and even remain mobile while urinating, although walking around while midstream is never recommended unless you have a change of clothes handy. Ladies, please don’t try to match the guys here...it’s just not worth it. Products like the Shewee, however, are narrowing the bathroom freedom gap between the sexes, although the fact that there’s a market for a women’s peeing device is maybe a touch ridiculous. 5. Enjoy Constitutionally Guaranteed Equal Rights The Equal Right Amendment to the US Constitution was passed by the Senate on March 22, 1972. It was then sent out to the individual states to ratify. In order to be officially accepted, the amendment must be approved by three quarters of the states. Reaching that goal requires 38 states to sign off. To date, only 36 have actually done so, which means 45 years after the Senate voted in favour of women’s rights nothing official has come of it. The most recent state to approve the amendment was Nevada, with six more set to vote in 2017.Given that these six states have a strong Republican population, it remains to be seen if the amendment will be passed this time anytime soon. British police have launched a search for a jogger who was caught on video reaching out to knock a female pedestrian into the path of a bus who had to swerve in order to avoid her, according to The Washington Post ...
