Triple Standard (

Suzuki)
EPK
Redefining standards, thrice. Triple Standard is a trio consisting of George Nagata on piano and beatbox, Daisuke Ito on vocals and beatbox, and Naoto Suzuki on guitar. The trio met back in
2012 for a spontaneous live session which was recorded and released as their
album "
First Encounter". When the album hit the streets of
Japan it was welcomed for their fresh take on old standards, and sold out within a year. As the trio toured throughout Japan in the following years they had developed new ideas and arrangements. With influence
from post 80's music, film soundtracks and a touch of Brazilian soul, George Nagata arranged songs for the second album "
Second Encounter" with modern-day interpretation to break through music genre barriers. They like to ask the question "What defines
Jazz?". Is it the pentatonic scale, the songbook standards, or the soulful
Ella & Louis voice? It is and isn't all those and beyond, but more importantly, the spirit of free interpretation and improvisation makes Jazz the still exciting music it is. Triple Standard aims to keep on re-defining the standards to keep the excitement going for years to come.
