Two women and a dog have been rescued from a car in floodwater on the NSW Far North Coast.
The trio were stranded in a causeway at Billinudgel on Sunday afternoon when they were plucked to safety by State Emergency Service volunteers as heavy rain continued to fall in areas from Port Macquarie up to Lismore.

Together with the Rural Fire Service, Fire and Rescue, police and councils, the SES was preparing on Sunday for two more days of rainfall and possible flooding.
"We are waiting for what the weather will do," Mr Campbell said.
"We are working to make sure that everyone is prepared and emergency services are also prepared."
Lismore, which was badly hit by floods at the end of March after Queensland's cyclone Debbie brought unprecedented rain to northern NSW, had 190mm of rain in the 48 hours to Sunday evening.
Evans Head copped more than 257mm in the same period.
