The tambourine is a musical instrument in the percussion family consisting of a frame, often of wood or plastic, with pairs of small metal jingles, called "zils". Classically the term tambourine denotes an instrument with a drumhead, though some variants may not have a head at all. Tambourines are often used with regular percussion sets. They can be mounted, but position is largely down to preference.
Tambourines come in many shapes with the most common being circular. It is found in many forms of music: Turkish folk music, Greek folk music, Italian folk music, classical music, Persian music, gospel music, pop music and rock music.
Tambourines originated in Rome, Greece, Mesopotamia, The Middle East, and India, in which the instrument was mainly used in religious contexts.
The word tambourine finds its origins in French tambourin, which referred to a long narrow drum used in Provence, the word being a diminutive of tambour "drum," altered by influence of Arabic tunbur "drum". from the Middle Persian word tambūr "lute, drum".
Sound design is the process of specifying, acquiring, manipulating or generating audio elements. It is employed in a variety of disciplines including filmmaking, television production, theatre, sound recording and reproduction, live performance, sound art, post-production, radio and video game software development. Sound design most commonly involves the manipulation of previously composed or recorded audio, such as sound effects and dialogue. In some instances it may also involve the composition or manipulation of audio to create a desired effect or mood. A sound designer is one who practices the art of sound design.
The use of sound to evoke emotion, reflect mood and underscore actions in plays and dances began in prehistoric times. At its earliest, it was used in religious practices for healing or just for fun. In ancient Japan, theatrical events called kagura were performed in Shinto shrines with music and dance.
Plays were performed in medieval times in a form of theatre called Commedia dell'arte, which used music and sound effects to enhance performances. The use of music and sound in the Elizabethan Theatre followed, in which music and sound effects were produced off stage using devices such as bells, whistles, and horns. Cues would be written in the script for music and sound effects to be played at the appropriate time.
"Mr. Tambourine Man" is a song written, composed, and performed by Bob Dylan, who released his original version of it on his 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home. The Byrds also recorded a version of the song that they released in the same year as their first single on Columbia Records, reaching number 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK Singles Chart, as well as being the title track of their first album, Mr. Tambourine Man. The Byrds' recording of the song was influential in initiating the musical subgenre of folk rock, leading many contemporary bands to mimic its fusion of jangly guitars and intellectual lyrics in the wake of the single's success.
This song has been covered by many artists, including Judy Collins, Odetta, Melanie, and William Shatner. The song's popularity led to Dylan recording it live many times, and it has been included in multiple Dylan and Byrds compilation albums. It has been translated into other languages, and has been used or referenced in television shows, films and books.
"What Do You Want?" was a 1959 song, which became a number one hit in the United Kingdom for Adam Faith. It was written by Les Vandyke and produced by John Burgess and arranged by John Barry. It first appeared on the UK Singles Chart on 20 November 1959 and spent 19 weeks there. It was at number one for three weeks, sharing the position for the final week with "What Do You Want to Make Those Eyes at Me For?" by Emile Ford & The Checkmates. It is the shortest song to reach number one in the UK Singles Chart.
"What Do You Want?" was covered by American singers Ersel Hickey in 1959 on Epic Records and Bobby Vee in 1960 on Liberty Records. It was recorded in French by Petula Clark as Moi, Je Préfère l'Amour a Tout Ça in 1959.
A creative director is a position often found within the graphic design, film, music, fashion, advertising, media or entertainment industries, but may be useful in other creative organizations such as web development and software development firms as well.
A creative director is a vital role in all of the arts and entertainment industries. In another sense, they can be seen as another element in any product development process. The creative director may also assume the roles of an art director, copywriter, or lead designer. The responsibilities of a creative director include leading the communication design, interactive design, and concept forward in any work assigned. For example, this responsibility is often seen in industries related to advertisement. The creative director is known to guide a team of employees with skills and experience related to graphic design, fine arts, motion graphics, and other creative industry fields. Some example works can include visual layout, brainstorming, and copy writing. Before one assumes the role of a creative director, one must have a preset of experience beforehand. Like anyone else, these types of artists start up from the very beginning in fields that can relate to motion graphics, advertisement in television, and/or book (or magazine) publishing.

An electric tambourine that is completely powered by the playing of the instrument. Yellow LED lights on the jingles light up when the corresponding piezo is rattled. The harder the tambourine rattles, the greater the voltage generated by the piezoelectric elements and thus the brighter the light. If the tambourine is rattled with enough force, blue and red LED lights on the band also light up. Thus, the player can both hear and see the music generated by this instrument. http://hlt.media.mit.edu/?p=1592 Documentation of the electronics and fabrication process: http://web.media.mit.edu/~jieqi/piezofinal.pdf
Left my wallet at Mynt in South Beach (Miami) the night before New Year's Day 2007. Drove down Collins Avenue from Aventura to pick it up. Bumped into "Mr. Tambourine Man" as I was crossing the street to get back into the car. Certainly a different side of Miami. I realize that my camera work was abysmal right at the money shot - I got over excited and am still a young buck when it comes to capturing video.
Recently I received an empty e-mail, it´s subject reading LEA. It had a .mp3 file attached, bearing the same name. I know Nicolá, he is a man of few words. This is my response. I hope you enjoy it. This time I won't give the answer
This time I won't help along
I gave more than I should give, still -
You just pretend that you are strong
But who should believe in your words?
You ask for reasons until it hurts
When wil you be on your own?
You got a problem, man!
Cause you keep shakin' like a tambourine, tambourine
Why don't you try just to give everything, everything
And you keep shakin' like a tambourine - all your way down
Aou may think you've lost your best friend
But I tell you that ain't true
I just want to make things clear now:
Some things must be up to you!
But who should believe in your words?
You ask for reasons until it hruts
When wil you be on your own?
