Why this footage of man 'throwing boat water into river causing it to "explode"' is making people furious.
The video appears to show a man chucking a bucket of water into a river - making it erupt.
Footage of a smiling man apparently throwing water from his boat into a river is set to land him in extremely hot water - for allegedly harassing an endangered species of animal .
The video, posted online under the headline "Would you swim in this river?", appears to show Scott McCormick chucking a bucket of water from his vessel into St John’s River in Florida, US.
The river nearby then seems to erupt. Mr McCormick has since been slammed by social media users after it was claimed the disturbance was actually a gathering of manatees.

CROSBY, TEXAS — Blasts rocked a flooded Crosby, Texas chemical plant on Thursday.
According to Reuters, 15 Harris County Sheriff's deputies had to be treated in hospital after investigating the explosions.
The plant makes organic peroxides, a compound found in commonplace everyday household items. Some of these require refrigeration and if they aren't cooled, they can catch fire.
Arkema Group, the facility owner, had been expecting a fire or explosion. Flooding from Hurricane Harvey had knocked out the facility's power and this meant its cooling systems weren't refrigerating volatile substances.
Prior to the explosion on Thursday, the company told the Texas Tribune there wouldn't be any long term impact and that environmental damage would be minimal.

Florida: A small plane crashed into a boat that was parked on the ground and caught fire Monday afternoon.
About 3 p.m., the Polk sheriff got the report of the crash in the 3900 block of Pipkin Creek Road.
First responders arrived and found the pilot -- Richard Simile, 55, of Auburn, Ala. -- had walked away from the crash.
Simile said he was headed west when the plane lost power and he crashed. The plane caught fire upon crashing.
He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

Boat
A boat is a watercraft of any size designed to float or plane, to work or travel on water. Small boats are typically found on inland (lakes) or in protected coastal areas. However, boats such as the whaleboat were designed for operation from a ship in an offshore environment. In naval terms, a boat is a vessel small enough to be carried aboard another vessel (a ship). Another less restrictive definition is a vessel that can be lifted out of the water. Some definitions do not make a distinction in size, as bulk freighters 1,000 feet (300 m) long on the Great Lakes are called oreboats. For reasons of naval tradition, submarines are usually referred to as 'boats' rather than 'ships', regardless of their size and shape.
Boats have a wide variety of shapes, sizes and construction methods due to their intended purpose, available materials or local traditions. Canoe type boats have a long history and various versions are used throughout the world for transportation, fishing or sport. Fishing boats vary widely in style partly to match local conditions. Pleasure boats include ski boats, pontoon boats, and sailboats. House boats may be used for vacationing or long-term housing. Small boats can provide transport or convey cargo (lightering) to and from large ships. Lifeboats have rescue and safety functions. Boats can be powered by human power (e.g., rowboats), wind power (e.g., sailboats) and motor power (e.g., propellor-driven motorboats driven by gasoline or diesel engines).

CROSBY, TEXAS — Blasts rocked a flooded Crosby, Texas chemical plant on Thursday. According to Reuters, 15 Harris County Sheriff's deputies had to be treated in hospital after investigating the explosions. The plant makes organic peroxides, a compound found in commonplace everyday household items. Some of these require refrigeration and if they aren't cooled, they can catch fire. Arkema Group, the facility owner, had been expecting a fire or explosion. Flooding from Hurricane Harvey had knocked out the facility's power and this meant its cooling systems weren't refrigerating volatile substances. Florida: A small plane crashed into a boat that was parked on the ground and caught fire Monday afternoon. About 3 p.m., the Polk sheriff got the report of the crash in the 3900 block of Pipkin Creek Road. First responders arrived and found the pilot -- Richard Simile, 55, of Auburn, Ala. -- had walked away from the crash. Simile said he was headed west when the plane lost power and he crashed. First responders arrived and found the pilot -- Richard Simile, 55, of Auburn, Ala. -- had walked away from the crash.
Simile said he was headed west when the plane lost power and he crashed. The plane caught fire upon crashing.
He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

About 3 p.m., the Polk sheriff got the report of the crash in the 3900 block of Pipkin Creek Road.

Heading to Florida to See Disney, The Beaches or Just for Some Relaxing Fun? Here we give you a bunch of very helpful hints, tips and advice for getting the MOST out of your Florida vacation.
Tip #1. Weather Will Affect you - no matter when you come to Florida please know no matter what the forecast says, you will probably get rained on at least for a short burst. Hurricane season is June through November but it is the worst from late August through early October. Always keep applying your sunscreen as well as the sun is very strong in Florida.
Tip #2. There is more to Florida than just Disney and South Beach. Both places are awesome but there is so much more to visit in Florida, like the Everglades or the history of St. Augustine, or heading out to Ybor in Tampa.
Tip #3. Preplan and Prebook anything you can if it is during peak tourist season or it is a popular attraction. If you want to see a certain princess at Disney make sure you are making that lunch reservation two or three months in advance. Also, make sure you search online for deals on main attractions and hotels.
Tip #4. Driving in Florida is stressful. They drive super fast in Florida, except for the tourists who aren't sure where they are going or some of the snowbirds. So be ready for super fast, crowded driving and be ready to stop on a dime.
Tip #5. Use the cheap airlines to visit Florida. We all love getting our frequent flyer miles, but the cheap flights to Florida can outweigh the miles gained on flying a major carrier.
Tip #6. Florida is not the Deep South. Florida is a mix of many cultures and is not your traditional "Southern State" it has a great mix of latin, Caribbean and southern culture that tourists can really enjoy whether they are partying in Florida or Jacksonville or Orlando.

The Florida Keys are a group of thirty one coral islands that extend from Miami on the southern point of Florida, to the Caribbean, the first and largest of which is Key Largo that was made famous by a Hollywood movie of the same name. Bonita Springs with its Everglades Wonder Gardens is situated north west of Miami close to the Gulf Of Mexico and features the animals of the Everglades. This wildlife refuge was created in 1936 and was later enlarged with botanical gardens and further animals from all over the world. On the east coast of the Florida Peninsula, Cape Canaveral juts out into the Atlantic. As far back as 1949 the ‘Rocket Trials Zone’, as it was then known, was built here, an area that has been further developed and extended to become the world famous Space Station that it is today. Today Fort Lauderdale is a popular residential area located on the south Atlantic coast where its harbour and sandy beaches are situated in front of newly built skyscrapers. The Sunshine State: an appropriate name for one of the most entertaining and yet relaxing places on Earth!

Chemical plant explosion: Blasts hit storm-ravaged Texas chemical plant - TomoNews
CROSBY, TEXAS — Blasts rocked a flooded Crosby, Texas chemical plant on Thursday. According to Reuters, 15 Harris County Sheriff's deputies had to be treated in hospital after investigating the explosions. The plant makes organic peroxides, a compound found in commonplace everyday household items. Some of these require refrigeration and if they aren't cooled, they can catch fire. Arkema Group, the facility owner, had been expecting a fire or explosion. Flooding from Hurricane Harvey had knocked out the facility's power and this meant its cooling systems weren't refrigerating volatile substances. Prior to the explosion on Thursday, the company told the Texas Tribune there wouldn't be any long term impact and that environmental damage would be minimal. ----------------------------------...

Crazy! Plane Explodes After Crashing into Boat, Man Walks Away with Minor Injuries
Florida: A small plane crashed into a boat that was parked on the ground and caught fire Monday afternoon. About 3 p.m., the Polk sheriff got the report of the crash in the 3900 block of Pipkin Creek Road. First responders arrived and found the pilot -- Richard Simile, 55, of Auburn, Ala. -- had walked away from the crash. Simile said he was headed west when the plane lost power and he crashed. CROSBY, TEXAS — Blasts rocked a flooded Crosby, Texas chemical plant on Thursday.
According to Reuters, 15 Harris County Sheriff's deputies had to be treated in hospital after investigating the explosions.
The plant makes organic peroxides, a compound found in commonplace everyday household items. Some of these require refrigeration and if they aren't cooled, they can catch fire.
Arkema Group, the facility owner, had been expecting a fire or explosion. Flooding from Hurricane Harvey had knocked out the facility's power and this meant its cooling systems weren't refrigerating volatile substances.
Prior to the explosion on Thursday, the company told the Texas Tribune there wouldn't be any long term impact and that environmental damage would be minimal.

About 3 p.m., the Polk sheriff got the report of the crash in the 3900 block of Pipkin Creek Road.
First responders arrived and found the pilot -- Richard Simile, 55, of Auburn, Ala. -- had walked away from the crash.
Simile said he was headed west when the plane lost power and he crashed. The plane caught fire upon crashing.
He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.

On August 14, 2017, SpaceX successfully launched its twelfth Commercial Resupply Services mission (CRS-12) from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, Florida. Liftoff occurred at 12:31 p.m. EDT, or 16:31 UTC and was followed approximately two and a half minutes later by separation of the first and second stages. The first stage of Falcon 9 then successfully landed back at SpaceX’s Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. We got soaked by Niagara Falls Falling On Us! :) It was fun though. We also walk the rapids of Niagara too (White Water Walk). There is so much fun in this video, we hope you enjoy it all.

It claimed eleven lives and is considered the largest accidental marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry, an estimated 8% to 31% larger in volume than the previously largest, the Ixtoc I oil spill. Following the explosion and sinking of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig, a sea-floor oil gusher flowed for 87 days, until it was capped on 15 July 2010.
The US Government estimated the total discharge at 4.9 million barrels (210 million US gal; 780,000 m3). After several failed efforts to contain the flow, the well was declared sealed on 19 September 2010. Some reports indicate the well site continues to leak.

Mega Disasters Seconds From Disaster Fire on board the Star
MS Scandinavian Star, originally named MS Massalia and also known by other names (see infobox), was a car and passenger ferry built in France in 1971. The ship was set on fire in 1990, killing 159 people.
M/S Massalia was built by Dubigeon-Normandie S.A. in 1971 and delivered to Compagnie de Paquebots who put her on the route Marseille–Málaga–Casablanca and also cruises in the Mediterranean Sea. In 1984 she was owned by a number of companies and named Stena Baltica, Island Fiesta and finally Scandinavian Star, a name given to her by Scandinavian World Cruises who chartered the ship and put her on cruises between St. Petersburg, Florida and Tampa, Florida to Cozumel, Mexico.
In 1990, the Scandinavian Star was sold to Vognmandsruten and put into service on DA-NO Linjen's route between Oslo, Norway, and Frederikshavn, Denmark. As the ship had been converted from a casino ship to a passenger ferry, a new crew needed to be trained and were given just ten days to learn new responsibilities. Master mariner Captain Emma Tiller, interviewed for the National Geographic Channel's documentary series Seconds from Disaster, stated that six to eight weeks would be a reasonable period to train a crew for a ship of the Star's size. The documentary went on to explain that many of the crew could not speak English, Norwegian or Danish, thus further reducing the effectiveness of the response to the emergency. The insurance company Skuld's technical leader, Erik Stein, had inspected the ship shortly before, and had declared the fire preparedness deficient, for among other reasons because of defective fire doors.[2]
During the night of 7 April 1990, at about 2 a.m. local time, fire broke out in an unoccupied portion of Deck 3 within the passenger section of the ship. The subsequent investigation found no natural origin for the second fire and concluded it was deliberately set. A previous fire nearby started about 15 minutes earlier, and was discovered by a passenger and extinguished, and may have been started deliberately. Although the bulkheads were made of steel structure with asbestos wall boards, a melamine resin laminate was used as a decorative covering and proved extremely flammable in subsequent testing, spreading fire throughout Deck 3. The burning laminates produced toxic hydrogen cyanide and carbon monoxide gases. The fire then spread to Deck 4 and Deck 5.[citation needed]
When the captain learned of the fire, he attempted to close the bulkhead fire doors on Deck 3. The fire doors were not configured for fully automatic closing and did not respond since emergency alarms near the doors had not been manually triggered by passengers or crew. A vehicle storage area ventilated by large fans to remove exhaust fumes was also located nearby, and the fans pulled air through an improperly secured fire door and caused rapid fire progress from Deck 3 through Deck 4 and Deck 5 via stairways located on either end. The captain later ordered his crew to turn off the ventilation system when he realized it was feeding the fire, and an unintended result was that smoke was able to enter passenger cabins via the door vents. Some tried to seek refuge from the smoke in areas such as closets and bathrooms, but were eventually overcome by smoke. Those who tried to escape may have variously encountered thick smoke, confusing corridor layouts, and poorly trained crew members. The captain ordered the general alarms to be activated, told everyone to abandon ship, and sent out a mayday request. The captain and crew ultimately abandoned ship before all passengers were evacuated, leaving many still on board the burning ship even after it was towed to the harbor
