Crossbreed was a six-member heavy metal band from Clearwater, Florida, formed in 1996. They were signed with Artemis Records before being dropped from the label in 2003. The band released two EPs and three full-length albums before disbanding in 2010.
Crossbreed was formed in 1996 as a four-man band consisting of James Rietz, Chris Nemzek, Charlie Parker & Travis Simpkins. A year later they added keyboardist Jason Troph who left in 1998 to front the Orlando-based band Irrational. He was replaced by Phil "Flip" Marquardt. Their self-produced album .01 was released in 1998 with only 1,000 copies made; the album featured a cover version of "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak.
In 1999, Dan "DJ" Izzo (then under the moniker "D.J. Balistick") joined the band as their DJ/2nd Keyboardist. It was at this time that he began developing their stage show using black lights and glow paint, which helped bring the band to the attention of the music industry.
Bong Bong was a small township in the Southern Highlands in New South Wales, Australia. It is also the name for the surrounding parish.
The site was chosen by Governor Lachlan Macquarie in 1820 close to the ford on the Wingecarribee River. In 1821 it was laid out and there is an obelisk on the site stating "Site of Bong Bong Military Station and First Township Reserve on the Southern Highlands - surveyed 1821".
A post office was established in 1829 which operated until 1867 when, with the combination of the realignment of the Great Southern Road (now the Hume Highway) and the railway going to the neighbouring town of Moss Vale, Bong Bong declined. All that remains now is the Church, called Christ Church. In the Christ Church cemetery is buried the Australian explorer Joseph Wild.
A railway station known as Bong Bong opened on the Main South railway line in 1878, closing in 1913.
La Doña is the eleventh album by Teena Marie, released in 2004 on the Cash Money label.
The album includes guest contributions from Rick James ("I Got You" - this was the last recording James made before his death), Gerald Levert ("A Rose by Any Other Name"), Common ("Revelations 3:8 Introduction"), Birdman ("Off the Chain"), MC Lyte ("The Mackin' Game") and Marie's daughter, Alia Rose.
The album peaked at #6 on the Billboard 200, Marie's highest placing (and first top 20 entry) on that chart. It also reached #3 on the R&B Albums chart.
The lead-off single "Still in Love" (which samples Al Green's 1972 track "What a Wonderful Thing Love Is") was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005 in the category Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
All songs written by Teena Marie, except where noted.
Renault Sport Racing and Renault Sport Cars , both commonly known as Renault Sport (French pronunciation: [ʁəno spɔʁ]) or Renaultsport, are the motorsport, performance and special vehicles divisions of Renault. Renault Sport was officially established in 1976 as a merger between the Alpine and Gordini competition departments. Renault Sport Racing organises many Renault-backed one-make championships worldwide and is in charge of Renault group's official involvement in motor racing, including Formula One.
Renault Sport was created at the end of 1976, when Renault closed down the Alpine competition department (at that time, its main motorsport division), located at Dieppe, and moved all the racing activities to the Gordini factory at Viry-Châtillon, just outside Paris. The Dieppe-based Alpine department specialised in the construction of race car chassis while the Viry-Châtillon-based Gordini focussed on engines. However, several conflicts emerged between them, and Renault took the decision to unify both departments into a single location in order to achieve a greater integration and harmony. The company concentrated principally on developing a car for Formula One, although it also participated in other series.
Zvezde Granda (Grand Stars, Serbian Cyrillic: Звезде Гранда) is a televised singing contest in Serbia organized by the Grand Production record label. It is broadcast live on commercial television throughout the Balkans.
Airing on Pink TV in Serbia, as well as its subsidiaries Pink M and Pink BH in Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina, the competition has so far been held in five seasons - 2004, 2005, 2007, 2009, and 2011 with the sixth season currently in progress. Musical numbers performed by the contestants usually fall in the folk, pop-folk and turbo-folk genres, although since the 2007 season there has been a significant increase of straight pop elements.
Similar to the Idol series, over the course of a season, the eventual Zvezde Granda winner is voted by the TV.
The show starts with a jury consisting of folk music stars and show's producers, led by the owner of Grand Production, Saša Popović, picking out the contestants in the auditions throughout Serbia and other Balkan countries.
