Interactive horror experiences coming to scare the living hell out of Canberrans

The next couple of months in Canberra will be packed with about as much blood, rotting flesh and unexplained murder as you can get.

And now you can throw sequins and false eyelashes in to the horror mix.

A multitude of interactive horror experiences is coming to the capital, including Operation Shit Your Pants (a zombie horror walk with a twist), Dark Lake Canberra (an interactive theatre experience not recommended for pregnant women or people with heart conditions) and an interactive movie screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

In all three events, you don't just sit back and watch the terror unfold: you're a living, breathing part of the action. In Operation Shit Your Pants, participants walk through Fairbairn Pines surrounded by the walking dead.

In Dark Lake, small groups move through the story, encountering actors spaced throughout the performance area who construct the story around and including them.

If those two experiences get your heart racing a little too much, then donning a pair of suspenders and a sequined top hat is probably your best bet. Dendy Cinemas wants people to go all out on camp retro costumes for a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Monday 25 September.

You wear the false eyelashes and the suspenders and Dendy will provide a prop bag, a lyrics sheet and a themed cocktail on arrival. The event will be hosted by Canberra drag queen River Styx.
