Skoda's Kodiaq set for more sightings.
The Czech brand has confirmed that it will be offering its previously mentioned diesel-powered Koidaq 140TDI in Australia, which will be priced from $48,990 before on-road costs .
Based on the same underpinnings as the 2016 Drive Car of the Year winning Volkswagen Tiguan, the petrol-powered Kodiaq has been a slow seller since its launch halfway through 2017. However, the diesel-powered variant should add some more diversity and appeal to the compact seven-seat SUV range.
Power comes from the 2.0-litre turbo diesel unit found in the Skoda Superb, which produces 140kW and 400Nm and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch auto which delivers power to all four wheels. Fuel is rated a 5.9L/100km.
The 140TDI gets a new 9.2-iinch touchscreen – up from 8.0-inches – with DAB+ digital radio and adjustable headrests similar to those found on airplanes for the rear seat passengers. The 135TSI will also receive these upgrades later in 2017.
Skoda is now taking orders before the Kodiaq 140TDI arrives in showrooms before Christmas, 2017.

Doesn't need a diesel at all. Diesel is so yesterday. Nothing wrong with the very capable, refined, 2.0t petrol. Just give it the 162kw option, like the Tiguan.
