JOEY RAMONE & FRIENDS - Live in New York (*MPFree Download*)

Hey, Ho, lets go....Here's a little something to remember Joey Ramone who died on this day fifteen years ago.....Today’s post finds him very much alive somewhere and at sometime in New York City  with his all-star band; Daniel Rey-Guitar/Andy Shernof-Bass/Marky Ramone-Drums, blasting out a short, sharp and sweet set of Ramones numbers and a couple of covers.  Enjoy!

THE RAMONES - The Cretin Hop (Unofficial/Bootleg album.)

This recording captures The Ramones in front of an enthusiastic Ann Arbor audience in February 1979 during their Road To Ruin tour, and months before they started recording End Of The Century. The set is a great selection of tunes from their first four albums plus a couple that would appear on the aforementioned End of The Century. It's fast, furious and frantic full throttle pedal to the metal Rock'n'Roll. Raw, rough and raucous even by Ramones standards. As a bonus there are also 7 tracks from various TV show appearances the band made between 1982 and 1995. Hey, Ho Let's Go!

JOEY RAMONE & FRIENDS - Live @ The Continental Divide NYC 19/7/95

In keeping with the spirit this is gonna be short and sweet. Hey, Ho, Lets Go! In memory of Joey Ramone who passed away 10 years ago the other day, here he is with some friends, blastin’ through nine numbers in 1995. There’s also a photo of an old Sounds cover of mine with Joey on the front from back in 1985. Gabba, Gabba Hey!

THE RAMONES - Milton Keynes Bowl 22/6/85

I thought this recording was gonna be lost to me (and to you) I started to convert it to digital format and it was all going OK, no problem with the opening number Durango 95, then suddenly "I..m..a..T..e..e..n..a..g..e..L..o..b..o..t..o..m..y The tape slowed down and then a cassette deck full of chewed up and snapped tape. I tried to fix it but to no avail. BOLLOCKS! Then a few days later I came across a copy on a forum, (Guitars101 I think), and thought fuck it, I’ll use that copy (hence the not so high bit rate) This is a fast, frantic and furious set from da brudders Ramone, no surprises there, recorded at a festival they played at Milton Keynes Bowl along with REM and U2, as part of their tour to promote Too Tough To Die, the last great Ramones album in my opinion. I caught a couple of their London dates earlier on that year, they were electric. Anyway enough of this shit here’s the goods!
