Belgrade (/ˈbɛlɡreɪd/; Serbian: Beograd / Београд; [beǒɡrad]; names in other languages) is the capital and largest city of Serbia. It is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, where the Pannonian Plain meets the Balkans. Its name translates to "White city". The city has a population of 1.23 million, while over 1.65 million people live within city limits .
One of the most important prehistoric cultures of Europe, the Vinča culture, evolved within the Belgrade area in the 6th millennium BC. In antiquity, Thraco-Dacians inhabited the region, and after 279 BC Celts conquered the city, naming it Singidūn. It was conquered by the Romans during the reign of Augustus, and awarded city rights in the mid-2nd century. It was settled by the Slavs in the 520s, and changed hands several times between the Byzantine Empire, Frankish Empire, Bulgarian Empire and Kingdom of Hungary before it became the capital of Serbian king Stephen Dragutin (1282–1316). In 1521, Belgrade was conquered by the Ottoman Empire and became the seat of the Sanjak of Smederevo. It frequently passed from Ottoman to Habsburg rule, which saw the destruction of most of the city during the Austro-Ottoman wars. Belgrade was again named the capital of Serbia in 1841. Northern Belgrade remained the southernmost Habsburg post until 1918, when the city was reunited. As a strategic location, the city was battled over in 115 wars and razed to the ground 44 times. Belgrade was the capital of Yugoslavia (in various forms of governments) from its creation in 1918, to its final dissolution in 2006.

Serbia (i/ˈsɜːrbiə/, Serbian: Србија / Srbija, IPA: [sř̩bija]), officially the Republic of Serbia (Serbian: Република Србија / Republika Srbija), is a sovereign state situated at the crossroads between Central and Southeast Europe, covering the southern part of the Pannonian Plain and the central Balkans. Serbia is landlocked and borders Hungary to the north; Romania and Bulgaria to the east; Macedonia to the south; and Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro to the west; it also claims a border with Albania through the disputed territory of Kosovo. The capital of Serbia, Belgrade, is one of the largest cities in Southeast Europe. Serbia numbers around 7 million residents.
Following the Slavic migrations to the Balkans from the 6th century onwards, Serbs established several states in the early Middle Ages. The Serbian Kingdom obtained recognition by Rome and Constantinople in 1217; it reached its peak in 1346 as a relatively short-lived Serbian Empire. By the mid-16th century, the entire territory of modern-day Serbia was annexed by the Ottoman Empire, at times interrupted by the Habsburgs. In the early 19th century, the Serbian Revolution established the nation-state as the region's first constitutional monarchy, which subsequently expanded its territory. Following disastrous casualties in World War I, and subsequent unification of Habsburg crownland of Vojvodina with Serbia, the country co-founded Yugoslavia with other South Slavic peoples, which would exist in various political formations until the Yugoslav Wars of the 1990s, which had devastating effects for the region. As a result, Serbia formed a union with Montenegro in 1992, which broke apart in 2006, when Serbia again became an independent country. In 2008 the parliament of Kosovo, Serbia's southern province with an Albanian ethnic majority, declared independence, with mixed responses from the international community.
Ada Ciganlija (Serbian Cyrillic: Ада Циганлија, pronounced [ˈǎːda tsiˈɡǎnlija]), colloquially shortened to Ada, is a river island that has artificially been turned into a peninsula, located in the Sava River's course through central Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The name can also refer to the adjoining artificial Lake Sava and its beach. To take advantage of its central location, over the past few decades, it was turned into an immensely popular recreational zone, most notable for its beaches and sports facilities, which, during summer seasons, can have over 100,000 visitors daily and up to 300,000 visitors over the weekend. Owing to this popularity, Ada Ciganlija has been commonly nicknamed "More Beograda" ("Belgrade's Sea"), which was officially accepted as an advertising slogan in 2008, stylised as More BeogrADA.
Ada Ciganlija is located on the southern bank of the Sava River, 4 km away from its mouth, and entirely belongs to Belgrade's municipality of Čukarica. Its eastern tip roughly borders the urban neighborhood of Senjak on the west (across an inlet called Čukarica Bay), and the body of the peninsula borders the neighborhoods of Čukarica and Makiš (both across Lake Sava). Across the river, Ada Ciganlija borders Novi Beograd (specifically residential bloks and the urban neighborhoods of Savski Nasip) and another artificial peninsula called Mala Ciganlija ("Little Ciganlija"). Between Ada Ciganlija and Novi Beograd lies Ada Međica, a wholly insulated river island.
A red star, five-pointed and filled (★), is an important symbol often associated with communist ideology. It has been widely used in flags, state emblems, monuments, ornaments, and logos.
The five-pointed red star has often served since about 1917 as a symbol of communism. One interpretation sees the five points as representing the five fingers of the worker's hand, as well as the five continents. A lesser known suggestion is that the five points on the star were intended to represent the five social groups that would lead Russia to communism: the youth, the military, the industrial labourers, the agricultural workers or peasantry, and the intelligentsia.
A red star became one of the emblems, symbols, and signals representing the Soviet Union under the rule of the Communist Party, along with (for example) the hammer and sickle. In Soviet heraldry the red star symbolized the Red Army and the military service - as opposed to the hammer and sickle, which symbolized peaceful labour.
World is a common name for the whole of human civilization, specifically human experience, history, or the human condition in general, worldwide, i.e. anywhere on Earth or pertaining to anywhere on Earth.
In a philosophical context it may refer to:
In a theological context, world usually refers to the material or the profane sphere, as opposed to the celestial, spiritual, transcendent or sacred. The "end of the world" refers to scenarios of the final end of human history, often in religious contexts.
World history is commonly understood as spanning the major geopolitical developments of about five millennia, from the first civilizations to the present.
World population is the sum of all human populations at any time; similarly, world economy is the sum of the economies of all societies (all countries), especially in the context of globalization. Terms like world championship, gross world product, world flags etc. also imply the sum or combination of all current-day sovereign states.

In this video I'm visiting Belgrade Serbia city. Oh how it feels good to be back in Belgrade. Last time I was in Belgrade Serbia was last year when I visited with my friend Gautier. This time, I was invited by the tourism board to take part in a trip which would explore lots of what Serbia had to offer - naturally I said sure and glad I did. This is just my first afternoon and evening but can give you an idea of things to do in Belgrade Serbia. I'm a fan of visting Belgrade as it's busy, fun, affordable and has good food / fast internet. V014 - Welcome to Belgrade, Serbia! One of my favorite European cities without a question. And also the biggest hidden gem to many people from the states. I find the Serbian culture to be very similar to the Italian culture. The people are almost TOO friendly and the food is always TOO good. Also, the cost of living is much lower compared to other European cities. In other words... you get the same experience (if not better) for a cheaper price! Of course the basketball is essential for my trip to Belgrade. Crvena Zvezda is one of the biggest brands in Serbia, along with Partizan. They play in the Euroleague and their fans might be the most passionate I've seen in my life. Check out the video to see what its like during the games! We went to Belgrade for a couple of days and were able to (re)visit some incredible restaurants with amazing food! Ambar is definitely our favourite as their food is very modern, tasty and genius. The portions are not as big as in usual Serbian restaurants but this way you can try out several dishes. We highly recommend the Ambar train as you get to taste the whole menu unless you say stop :) The service is the best and they are very knowledgable about all the dishes. Special thanks to Novica who recognised Dani even after one year and he even remembered what Dani ordered during his first stay! You're the BEST, Novica! Which would make it the same as popular music in pretty much any country in Europe if it wasn't also paid for by the Serbian and Croatian mafias (sometimes the Montenegrin) and served as the soundtrack to some of the most heinous war crimes since the Holocaust. Belgrade is the capital and largest city of Serbia. Belgrade, literally translates as the “White City”, it is one of the oldest cities in Europe, dating back to the 3rd century BC. The Republic Square is the main meeting point in town. It is the site of the National Theater, the Statue of Prince Michael and the National Museum. Many locals consider the Republic Square to be the city’s centerpiece areas but the Belgrade’s designated center is Terazije. In its vicinity are some of Belgrade’s most recognizable buildings, including: The House of the National Assembly of Serbia. The Old Palace, today the City Hall but once a royal residence as well as, standing on the opposite side, the New Palace, today the seat of the President. Between National Assembly and Terazije is one of the centr...

David’s first stop is Kalemagdan Fortress which consist of the old citadel and Kalemegdan Park on the confluence of the Danube River and the Sava River. Knez Mihailova Street is the main pedestrian street in the city center. Next up we visit Ada Lake, a river island that has been turned into a peninsula. During the summer months, Belgradian’s come to relax at t...

I admit visiting it myself mainly based upon the poor reputation it has carved out for itself. Of course I conjectured that what people say is wrong. I was right. The city is great! Before coming I was excited about watching Red Star (Crvena Zvezda) play. Watching them live was obviously one of the highlights of my stay in Beograd. There’s also a museum at the stadium worth checking out were you can witness their proud history. The city was kind of hard to get oriented in and I did get lost quite a few times walking around trying to find the fortress. Walking is still far pr...
It's one of my favourite cities in the Balkans or anywhere and considering it as a possible business base a few months a year. A brief traveler's guide to Visiting Belgrade Serbia Does your European itinerary have you passing through Belgrade this summe...
Ada Ciganlija is a river island that has artificially been turned into a peninsula, located in the Sava River's course through central Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Due to this popularity, Ada Ciganlija has been commonly nicknamed "More Beograda" ("Belgrade's Sea").

This was a week night and hip hop night; imagine a weekend with electronic? Anyways we were at Freestyler and had a great time enjoying Belgrade Serbia nightlife. Living it up at night in Belgrade There are a number of great nightclubs to hit in Belgrade's downtown core (in particular, we recommend Community by Kasina, which is full of attractive locals in their best dress … don't show up in jeans and sandals; you WILL be denied entry), but during the summer, the place to be on a warm summer's night is on a splavovi. These are river barges that have been converted into floating bars and dance clubs, allowing its patrons to party the night away under a ...
By the way Ambar was number 6 in Tripadvisor's ranking last year and in March 2017 they were already second place!!! You guys deserve it! If you go to Belgrade then visit...
