Burlington, Vermont - March 22, 2008
Sunny weather brought out more anti-war protesting on Saturday, with demonstrations held in Burlington and Rutland.
In Burlington, mostly students from UVM gathered on Church Street to call for an end to the Iraq war. One protester, Alyssa Weinfurtner, says she only recently got involved because she didn't like what she heard from a group of anti-war military veterans. "I went to the winter soldier program, or presentation, where the Iraq veterans talked about their testimonies and how a lot of them had post traumatic stress disorder. And just what the had to say was insane to me. And it just made me want to do something about it," she said.
The protests in Vermont have been peaceful but in the San Francisco Bay area, hundreds of protesters got themselves arrested earlier this week.
