This is a British punk-reggae band who released this album in 1983. It was re-released in the UK in 1986 and again in France in 1988. The original 1983 release had a different cover...

...and the track listing was a different order.

Beeside - What You Call Love 7'' (1981)

This is an extremely rare record that took me years and years to find. The a-side is female-fronted punk reggae. The b-side is a rockin' song with an early new wave influence. Both sides are good.

I don't know anything about the band but I'm pretty sure they were from the US. I have no idea if they ever released anything else.
As rare as it is there is currently a copy available on Discogs for $45.00 which I think is reasonable (no, I'm not the one selling it and I don't know the person who is selling it.)

Hondo

Hondo was a British punk/reggae band from Cambridge with more emphasis on the 'reggae' than on the 'punk'. The band was lead by Paul "Ching" Hue who is still active in music today. You might know him from THIS. He is currently in the Wya band.

Cassie - Change My Image 7" (1982)

This is one of those records that is sold as a ska record but the ska influence is slight. The A-side is female fronted rockin' new wave and the B-side is more rockin' than the A-side but it keeps going back-and-forth between some distorted guitar to a mellow punk-reggae sound. Both songs are good and the record is very rare and expensive. I do not have a copy myself. This download is for some low quality versions I found online.

Vital Disorders - Zombie 7" (1982)

Female fronted British punk-reggae song. They released 3 singles and, later, a cd compilation, but I think this is their only ska/reggae influenced song.

Dee Sign - Dee Sign LP (1981) [RE-UPLOADED MAY 30th, 2016]

This is one of those things that you always see for sale in the ska section but it really isn't ska at all. It's punk with only the slightest reggae influence. For fans of the Slits, Mo-Dettes, or Liliput.

Dee Sign were an all-female band from Denmark and this is probably the only thing they released. It is not hard to find a copy, but it's a pretty decent punk album that is often overlooked. Lead singer Annie Larsen later changed her name to Annie Panic and played with the band Public Panic before releasing an eponymous demo cassette in 1990.

Clive Pig and the Hopeful Chinamen - Happy Birthday Sweet 16 7" (1979)

Punk-reggae from this British band.

Clive Pig was an acoustic guitar storyteller/poet that meshed in nicely with the late 70s punk scene. He released lots of good material with different bands. This particular record is not hard to find.

Even if you're not a big fan of punk-reggae this one's a good one. It will grow on you.

Honey Bane - Guilty 7'' (1980)

With everything that Crass Records put out in the eighties as far as diversity - Bjork's first band Kukl, the punk-electronica of Hit Parade, the punk-rap of Captain Sensible, you would think that there would be plenty of the ska / reggae influence. It was there but it was rare. Poison Girls did "Old Tart's Song"...
