Mount Seymour trail offers three different peaks of stunning views. These peaks are commonly referred to as Pump Peak, Second Pump Peak, and Mount Seymour Peak. While Pump Peak and Second Pump Peak can be destinations of their own, it is most common to hike to the third and final peak, the summit of Mount Seymour itself.
From the summit of Mt. Seymour there are views of Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, the Indian Arm and of what appears to be a never-ending stretch of coastal mountains. On a clear day you can even see Vancouver Island.

Was a fun day hike at mount Seymour i know i have some hiking friends on here that wanted me to post more of my hikes so here is a day hike i did today. If you are ever in British Columbia Vancouver i highly recommend this hike just bring lost of water and sunscreen

Mount Seymour
Mount Seymour is a ski area mountain located in Mount Seymour Provincial Park in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is a part of the North Shore Mountains, rising to the north from the shores of Burrard Inlet and Indian Arm to a summit of 1,449 m (4,754 ft) above the Indian River and Deep Cove neighbourhoods. Mount Seymour is most commonly identified for its ski area of the same name, and as a popular hiking area. It is named in honour of Frederick Seymour, second governor of the Colony of British Columbia. The name is used to refer to the ridge although the main summit is one of several, and is also known as Third Pump Peak.
History
The mountain opened for skiing in 1938 under the ownership of Harold Enquist, with a cafeteria and ski rental. A few years later, in 1949, the Government of British Columbia bought the ski area. The Government did not have the experience to run a ski area, so, they issued Mr. Enquist the first Park Use Permit to operate the area. When the permit expired in 1951, the government found a concessionaire, who was put in charge of running the lifts, ski school and cafeteria. The government retained overall ownership until 1984, when it privatized its operation as part of a cost-cutting measure.

Dog Mountain Hike in Mount Seymour Park, North Vancouver

Dog Mountain is the most popular hike in Mount Seymour Provincial Park. It is a short hike with little net gain in elevation. Yet, the trail is rooty and rocky, and can also be muddy and slippery. These trail conditions make this hike moderate in difficulty, rather than easy. But, the trek is well worth it. The views from Dog Mountain are spectacular. Mount Baker, the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland, Stanley Park and the Strait of Georgia are all prominently on display.

Me and Mike set out on a Adventure up Seymour mountain. The weather forecast was calling for snow but it did not stop us from heading out. We arrived at the trail head just before 8am. We set up camp around 11am. Set out for the summit around 12. We finally go to the summit at 2:10 pm.

The hike to Mystery Lake is comparable to nearby Dog Mountain in difficulty. The short distance is made up for by an uphill climb over the challenging and technical terrain. You’ll still feel you’ve had a solid workout by the time you have finished the hike. The trail is easy to follow all the way to the lake and takes about 45 minutes, each way.

Even today ocean biologists and an assortment of other scientists follow in the footsteps of Charles Darwin and in the 1960's a research station on one of the islands was named in his honour. With the introduction of non-indigenous dogs, cats and rats, the ecological balance on some of the islands has become critical, however, since 1959 the Galapagos Islands have been designated as a protected area.

In this episode of Fidel Gastro Travel Matt heads out to the bustling metropolis Vancouver, BC to take in the sights, the sounds, and especially the food.
The Greater Vancouver area actually had a population of 2.4 Million people in 2016, granting it the title of the third-largest metropolitan area in Canada. It is also the fourth most densely populated city in North America, falling short against heavyweights like San Francisco and New York City. In a 2011 census Vancouver was found to be one of the most linguistically and ethnically diverse cities in Canada. In fact, more than 50% of their residents have a first language other than English. That combination leads to a wide range of of interesting, authentic local food and a variety of culture.
Matt's first stop is at a restaurant known as Medina, located on Richards St. where he has what looks like a delicious brunch plate loaded with eggs, sausage, fresh greens and more. Medina opened it's doors to the public in 2008 and since has earned a reputation as an outstanding breakfast, lunch and weekend-brunch destination. The Medina features Mediterranean-inspired cuisine created by Executive chef Adam Perrier. After six years in it's original location Medina relocated to it's new home on Richard's St. to accommodate it's continuing growth.
Following a tour around the city Matt heads out to the First Lake Winter Trail wearing, interestingly enough, a pair of shorts in the snow. They have the good fortune of running across a hawk on the trail and the cold doesn't seem to phase Matt during the hike. The view from the trail edge was stunning, a shining example of nature's beauty to say the least. The First Lake Trail is part of the Mount Seymour Provincial Park which is immediately adjacent to the Ski Resort by the same name. One of the most outstanding features of this trail is that it is nestled in to the mountainside. This makes it seem much farther away from the city that it actually is.
They wrap up this travel video discussing the possibility of Sushi in the near future. After seeing the city in all it's glory, and getting a sneak peak at some of the interesting sights to see and restaurants to visit it is clear that this is must visit location for any avid traveler.
