VTV Ganesh

Ganesh Janardhanan, also known by his stage name VTV Ganesh is an Indian actor, comedian and film producer. He is best known for his appearances in films featuring Silambarasan. He had made his debut in Gautam Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya

Career

Ganesh made his breakthrough with a role in his home production Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya directed by Gautham Menon featuring Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles. His portrayal of Ganesh, the fictional cinematographer of Kaakha Kaakha won plaudits from critics and eventually led to him changing his name by adding a prefix with the initials of the film (VTV). He went on to play a comic role in the 2011 anthology film, Vaanam, which he also produced, portraying the character of "Bajanai" Ganesh who assists Cable Raja played Silambarasan. Ganesh also acted in Osthi featuring Silambarasan in a role as the heroine's father. He was one of the lead characters in Naveena Saraswathi Sabatham (2013).

Ganesha

Ganesha (/ɡəˈneɪʃə/; Sanskrit: गणेश, Gaṇeśa;  listen ), also known as Ganapati and Vinayaka, is one of the best-known and most worshipped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout India, Sri Lanka and Nepal.Hindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations. Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains and Buddhists.

Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha emerged as a distinct deity in the 4th and 5th centuries CE, during the Gupta Period, although he inherited traits from Vedic and pre-Vedic precursors. He was formally included among the five primary deities of Smartism (a Hindu denomination) in the 9th century. A sect of devotees called the Ganapatya arose, who identified Ganesha as the supreme deity. The principal scriptures dedicated to Ganesha are the Ganesha Purana, the Mudgala Purana, and the Ganapati Atharvashirsa.

Robo Shankar who is a mimicry artist was offered by Gokul a role in Rowthiram (2011), however his scenes were edited out from the film. Gokul again casted him in an role of Pasupathi's henchman in Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara (2013) which gave him a break as an actor. After doing small roles in Yaaruda Mahesh and Kappal, Balaji Mohan casted him the role of a drunkard in Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (2014). His performance was described by critics as "scream". He portrayed a negative character in Touring Talkies. He then acted in Maari where his performance was mentioned by critics that he "deserves a special mention" and "steals the show with his unique one-liners and body language". He did a cameo in Trisha Ilana Nayanthara. He also acted in Puli as a shrunken person. His upcoming project is Maiem.
